Default $60,000.00 for a bag of air...

I just came across this article... Some air from a Kanye West concert, sealed in a bag, was bid up to $60,000 on eBay.

Personally, you'd have to pay me $60,000 in order to breathe any air from a Kanye West concert!

Apparently eBay pulled the auction... Hey, if Kanye West fans will pay $60,000 to breathe the air from one of his concerts, I think they should be free to do so!

But... I wouldn't be surprised if, when the smoke clears, the highest bid for the air was found to have come from Kanye West himself!

Here's the article...

Best wishes!

Default Fake "news"

State of the Fourth Estate:

Sad when John Stewart on the Daily Show gives a more accurate account of the news than Networks.

It is Brooklyn Bridge Selling 101, right from the manual, create an outrageous idea, here Ebay being the idea incubator, then let the "News" of this leak.

Lesson: Outrageous Marketing or Will someone please wrap the Kardishians in bubble wrap and pop it?

Andy Warhol, you Nostradamus you.

This reminds me of what I read Russian workers used to say under the communists. "we pretend to work and they pretend to pay us"
Obviously, the item being sold was bogus but it is quite clear the bids were bogus too.

Personally, I think it's a great story…

I'm not a fan of the Kardashians, however, it seems I can't escape them!

Whether it's their stepdad turning into a woman, watching Kim Kardashian's butt "break the internet," or now, Kanye "Kardashian" West and the air from his concert!

However, as a publicity stunt, this is a pretty good one. Many publicity stunts cost thousands of dollars or more. The reality is, anybody can do a publicity stunt based on eBay. As long as it's orchestrated that the bids are bogus, and you can cover your tracks, I reckon anybody could do an eBay based publicity stunt…

Hmmm…

I think the Kardashians are worth studying for their publicity stunts, they are clearly masters at it!

Best wishes,

Dien

Yes, you are right, from a publicity point of view that could make a lot of sense! I never thought of that angle.
