![]() One of the most treasured memories from our submarine is of the time the captain looked through the periscope and someone had put graphite on it, he looked like a raccoon, although no one said a word, he walked around like that for hours. Great fun on the sub.
Today, Periscope is a recent acquisition by Twitter to counter Meerkat and other emerging live streaming applications. LIVE STREAMING via your iPhone makes one a newscaster, a reviewer, a storm chaser or even, like TMZ, a celebrity stalker. Are you up to date on these emerging technologies and do you have an eye toward the future? Feel free to share your finds here. We like ifttt https://ifttt.com/ http://www.periscope.com/ The next generation will have a different take on things, as for baby boomers, you still have a few years left to cash in with them, still about 10,000 a day turning 65. What a great time to have all this opportunity right in front of us, no? Gordon |

I took the time to test out Periscope yesterday, and also their competitor, Meerkat... There are some possibilities here, don't you think?! These are all iPhone apps. They enable you to broadcast live straight from your phone, and also enable others to tune in and watch your broadcast too! (I think Android apps are coming...) What else? It's not really designed for the desktop, but third parties have created websites where you can tune in as well... Here's one of them - http://www.lookats.com There are definitely marketing possibilities here. Those who get in early enough are likely to have the biggest success with it! Best wishes! Dien |

![]() Hi Dien,
It needs some tweaking, and a lot of development, but it is new, and if a savvy marketer comes up with a way to cash in on the live streaming, watch out. I think it might be good for live remotes, at, say marketing events, where you could catch one of the experts and do a quick interview, lets watch what happens here and brainstorm some money I zation...how to moolahize this thing. Just think if Taylor Swift were to broadcast on a daily basis, the girl would be a Billionaire in no time. Gordon Quote:

![]() I wrote an article a couple of years ago about using Google Hangout. You can broadcast live from your blog. Well... after your customers pay for access they can watch it live on your blog, and some of the them can interact with you.
