![]() "3 years out? YIKES, Gordon."
Was one response to my Lunar Landing Commemorative post. http://www.sowpub.com/forum/showthread.php?p=36549 The collectible and commemorative market is huge. This week Prince memorabilia is selling and some are making a lot of money. Yet few participate except as consumers. Why not create? Why not profit? Why not plan for profits? Because, there isn't any definitive course on how to do it. NO, I'm not going to write one either. But, I might be willing to share some experiences with those of you interested. Anyone interested? ![]() I like to do my own version of "Commemorative", wrapping a marketing program around a local event, as you did with postcards/trade shows.
The opportunities are endless and you can be as creative as you'd like. Ron Quote:

Not only those "anniversaries" locally, but also those perennial events too, like our Italian Fest, Irish Fest, October Fest, and the Hamburger Fest in Akron, which claims to be (along with 9 other cities) the birthplace of the hamburger. If we know there is a commemorative event, especially on 50th and 100th anniversaries, there is always something we have going. AND all businesses can have Founder's Day, our 6th year in biz, etc. etc. We've actually have done "coins" for local businesses who want a unique loyalty program. Good stuff. Much opportunity at the local level. At the National/International level, astronomical opportunities. Gordon |
