Default November classes now forming...

I have another question...

How long do you think you should advertise for in order to get your students? Is 2 weeks enough? A month?

(I'm sure it's probably something you'd experiment with to get it right for your area and your specific class...!)

Best wishes,

Dien

When we get past the 15th-20th, then we change Nov, to DEC.

OK, say you want to take a class in MS Word, and you search for a class and in my area, you'd see the U of Akron offers this, on such and such a date...but, if you need to take it NOW, you have to use the more expensive option of hiring a tutor.

IF I run ads in a newspaper, I'll do it by the season, Classes now forming for Winter, or Spring. That sort of thing. Since, for me, today...it is all about guerrilla and on the cheap or free, and craigslist and community bulletin boards (Facebook groups) work just fine.

Default Yes Skype opens up opportunities, as does youtube...

Meanwhile, while surfing through classes on Craigslist, I found this one...

Japanese Lesson via Skype!

Hi, I'm Sachiko. I teach private Japanese lessons. I offer a Skype Japanese Conversation Lesson from Tokyo.
I am certified Japanese teacher and have students at all levels, from beginners to JLPT N1 and beyond. Most of my current clients are expats living and working in Tokyo from all over the world. However, I also teach kids, adults, as well.
I'm available most times during the day, evenings, and weekends.
For this conversation lesson, I will bring a bunch of interesting questions about a topic... and we'll chat!
Some popular topics are: men vs women, childhood, getting older, drinking (alcohol), raising children, personality, sports, and travel.

I also have worksheets available to use!

She charges $25 for a 30 minute class (one on one).

I thought this was a good alternative "take" on lessons - giving lessons by Skype!

Probably "one-on-one" is easiest if you're doing it this way... But, your customers can be anywhere in the world, and you don't have to leave the comfort of your home! (Or office.)

Best wishes,

Dien

Thanks Dien, Skype is a great tool for teaching as is youtube.

And coming soon, my class in Astral Travel, all taught via ...

astral classes, see you in the ether, HA!

2) Where ever there are people. Right now, I's stick with craigslist unless you get on a location's event list, like the Community Center Fall/Winter schedule.

3) Yes, at least the audio, not always with video.

4) No stage. Usually 8 to 10 people sit around one big or two or three tables. If you must stand up, you are automatically in control, eliminate any stage fright with preparation. You aren't running for President, just be the person with the info they want.

5) Feel free to ask away. The best action to take, is run an ad on craigslist, you can always cancel the class, but write something interesting, get on the phone and get feedback.

What sort of class or lesson are you thinking of doing?

Thank you so much!

I've scouted around and I've gotten a venue.

The lessons I'm planning are on Internet
marketing; I want to skew them along the
lines of how you could build multiple income
streams on the Net. (Yeah, I know that sounds
vague but I can always tweak it along the
way)

Craigslist is not very active in my part of
the world; that's why I'm grateful for
sandalwood's suggestions on traffic.

In my typical optimism, I can totally see
this working out.

I hope it does, so I can celebrate by picking
up a certain Gordon J report I've been eyeing
for months now!

Thank you, my dear family!

I received your PM and attempted to answer. Hope you received it. If not, here is my answer:

None. The people could bring tea, water, coffee, soda if they desired. To me, it was a waste of time and an interruption. On the other hand, when we were going after 5K, 10K or more, we had coffee and water. Hope that helps.

With cake decorating the students make the cakes at home & bring it to class w/ their decorating supplies.

If you happen to already run a business the workshops could be done right there. And sell supplies / tools of course. Similar to what Home Depot does.

More for individual lessons, besides Skype, is video exchange platform. The instructor makes a vid of the lesson, student does a vid in response. Plenty of websites, especially music lessons, do it this way. Neither instructor or student is locked into a time & can be done from anywhere. You could even use YT.

To expand on that, if you have a an 8 hour workshop, that could could be broken down into 8-1hr vids. Run the workshop for 8 weeks w/ a new vid every week & personalized vid response for students. You would only need to make the workshop vids 1 time excluding any updates.

Thanks Boris, you make some good points.

What I want to emphasize is, SPEED. Fly Low quick cash.

Sure, if you want to teach, there are 1001 ways to do it online and we found out with the Headlight Cleaning Videos we could use youtube and drip them, or have them all in one place.

This is pretty SOP for teaching Online, which has made Udemy and other platforms so huge.

I've been offered a nice chunk of change for my Guerrilla videos; Spiders, Snakes and Mice, OH MY series IF I were willing to go in front of a camera and clean them up to a "professional" level... which sort of defeats the whole "guerrilla" concept. I'm not camera shy, many saw that on the SCI Professional Remote Direct Marketing Home Study Course where I did the introduction and on a few of my comedy routines too.

I basically just want to FLY LOW with these little workshops.

BUT, just because this is what I want to do, doesn't mean any of you can't take this simple little down and dirty, quick, simple and easy little money maker and turn it into something big, huge and with large business like profits.

THEN, if this is your desire, you have all the tools you need, and at that point it is more about ringing your own bell, and establishing preeminence in your field the whole "funnel" method...and all that comes with it.

This week I'll be posting my FALL classes, some tests and I'll share the results with you all here.

In the meantime, continue to post your thoughts, it is appreciated and even if I don't choose to go down any given route, doesn't mean you shouldn't or couldn't.

But I do want to say, EVERY one reading this has at least one little cash cow of a workshop in your brain, where it ain't making you any money is it? So, kick that baby out and convert it to moolah, OK?

In 1969, in Virginia Beach, there was a bookstore full of esoteric, arcane and all sorts of New Age mumbo jumbo. I read them all (or darn near).

MENTAL FASCINATION is a work from William Walker Atkinson and Frank Rudolph Young was one of the first to combine health/fitness with Mind Stuff, and he was a prolific writer.

Fascination occurs in Nature when animals stare their prey down. Although I don't agree with all these techniques (cause there are better ones)...

this comes pretty close to the RESULTS you get when you master it:

https://youtu.be/kbiUbSPxmXc

Lots of guys out there "teaching" this, but I don't see much more than stage shows and street shows. I have always been results oriented, and I've kept pretty good records over the years.

Whether Fascination is a version of Cold Reading, Hypnosis, Ericksonian Technique does'nt matter to me, can I make it work...

and it does for me, BUT, I combine the best of all those.

I first experienced putting people into a TRANCE which I've written and talked about in the Spiders, Snakes and Mice (Oh My) video.

Despite some charlatans selling courses, you can't fascinate by Remote means, it only takes place eyeball to eyeball, quite literally.

In Young's work, his secret is FDB-Feel Divinely Blissful THEN project the image into the other person's eye, add touch and sound for maximum results.

AHA! I used to hypnotize chickens like that growing up on my dad's farm. And sometimes cats and dogs... cats were always more difficult than dogs. It felt like I would look through their eyes into their soul/self/being/whatever and I could feel the moment when we'd "connect" and in that moment I could command them to "be calm" or "lay down" and the animal would respond.

I somewhat understand the concept of FDB... I think it is a feeling of centered energy? Need to learn more about it. And practice.

More homework! This is awesome. I found your spiders video, and just located several of Atkinson's and Young's books, including "Mental Fascination"

Many thanks Gordon.
