Default Newsletter & Textpad

For anyone else who publishes a newsletter, what settings are you using for width of the document, when using Textpad to create. The setting I am referring to can be found in Textpad this way :

1. Select Configure,
2. then Preferences,
3. Document Classes,
4. Text,
5. Word Break at Column ????? (55 ?)

I know that we are supposed to set hard line breaks at set to wrap long lines, but, what is the correct column setting as per #5 ?

If anyone knows the answer, I would appreciate your input. Thank you.

Hi Ken,

According to the The Handbook of Ezine Publishing, which is located at:

http://www.e-zinez.com/

set "each line in your e-zine to 65 characters and use a hard line break at the end of each line."

I've also read, can't recall where, that it's best to use Courier New Font - 10 point.

The best,

Dave

2) Limit line length to 60-65 characters, maximum.

Be sure to use a hard carriage return (hit the Enter key) at the end of each line of text. (This can be a time-consuming job, but the above tools can help you do them in a snap.)

Also make sure that any "line length" settings your email program may have are set to no more than 60-65 characters.
