![]() In Tokyo, there's a hairdresser which has figured out a way to get repeat customers, over and over...
It's reported that hair salons only get customers returning 30% of the time, after their first visit. However, this hair salon has 80% of customers returning after their first visit - more than double the usual! How do they do it? It's a salon that caters especially for fans of anime and manga... Many fans of anime and manga (which are Japanese comics and cartoons) find they don't know what to talk about with the hairdresser when they are getting their hair cut... For the Off-Kai hair salon in Tokyo, they only hire hairdressers who are also fans of anime and manga! So, customers who are also fans, and the hairdressers, can talk about their favorite Japanese anime and manga while having their hair cut! In addition... They can cut your hair to look like your favorite anime or manga character, if you want that... This seems like an odd business. But it is based on a solid marketing principle... Which is... When you're in a competitive industry, you have to find a way to differentiate yourself from the competition, in a way that your customers care about! The Off-Kai hair salon simply figured out a way to do this... In such a way that their customers are probably happy to travel halfway across town, just to get their hair cut by them! Which comes to my idea... A hair salon for marketers? Talk about marketing while you get your hair cut? What do you think? ![]() (Not sure there are enough people crazy about marketing to make it work... But it's a thought! ![]() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H031XD_Xx1w Best wishes, Dien P.S. ![]() Thanks Dien,
We Discovered that simply CALLING to Remind Clients to come in for their Appointment. OR Calling a Past Client - without an appointment. To Ask, "How did The New LOOK do? Do You want to Make any Changes?" Just showing you are THINKING about them. Filled every chair all week for the wife of a new Zealand Client. He sent me a pair of SHEEP SKIN Mocassins. Glenn |

![]() Hi Glenn,
Thanks for the tip! Sometimes simple things work like gangbusters... I think an email list can often work the same way... Every time you send out an email to your list (the kind of email they would like to read, due to it being entertaining and/or informative)... It reminds them that you exist... And they're more likely to want to do more business with you... In fact, if you do it right, having an email list of prospects and customers who like what you do, is almost like having a personal ATM... Every time you send out an email, money comes rolling in... Thanks, Glenn, for sharing...! Best wishes! Dien Quote:
