![]() This is the first published story of Operation Thunderhead I've read, the complete story (almost) of this lesson in history.
https://www.historynet.com/operation...seals-vietnam/ Now that it has been officially published, I have some stories about the crew and what we were doing during this time...if Ryan Gosling plays Lt. Dry in the movie (a look alike), then maybe Noah Schnapp (Stranger Things) could play me, of course, I am a feature figure of my own stories...albeit a minor walk on player in real life. Anyhow, I usually mention it every year, now a good history lesson is available. During the time we were sitting on the bottom, we maintained a silent state, and nothing was used, no noise was to be made, so the galley was basically shut down, and the head cook didn't make the trip, so we were short handed and the crew/troops still had to eat. Operation Thunderhead, a worthy story for the screen...got to get writing. Gordon |

![]() Thanks Gordon,
Sounds Like a GREAT STORY there. While I was Practicing Recipes on my Solar Oven - It EXPLODED. And While I was Using my Camp Stove - that burns Twigs, Leaves And Dry Grass. I Discovered my "Fire Starter" Won't Light a Fire. Had to Go get some Matches. Smoke Blew Into the House Through The Screen Door Too. ALL OF THAT IS "Out The Window" on a Sub, right? I'm Thinking BATTERIES. Thanks, glenn |
