*****
*****
January bill for BGE
Total: $34.76, due Feb 3
Total amount due
$34.76
Due date
Mon, Feb 3
*****
*****
No Solar Panels.

Just a Dozen Little Tricks and Gadgets and Pocket size Widgets.

Glenn

P.S. - If anybody is Interested in how I have pocketed 1000 bucks a yr
Then More. And More. Every year.

A Little at a time.

Hi Glenn, First thought was it must be solar but I saw that was not the case. Those tricks don't sound so silly if they are saving that much, so yes please!

Default Instead of Solar Panels - I Have tested Tiny Solar Gadgets

Thanks For ASKING John,

A Client in The UK warned me The Entire USA is Switching to TIME OF DAY
Billing.

Which increases Energy bills by 2 to 5 TIMES/.

And In Fact, several cities in Canada and Several California Counties have
already Switched to Time of Day Billing.

Middle of Day is 500% More Expensive.

So.

Solar Item #1 - I found a 25.00 Solar Lamp - which after sitting in the sun gives
me 24 Hours of Light.

Solar Item #2 - After visiting an Electrical Supply warehouse. Which had a Plastic Funnel with a fan at the bottom. Blowing hot air off the ceiling onto the staff at the Cash Register.

I Did that too.

Bought one then 2 More Solar Fans. Sit in the window one day. And I get 2 days of Low Fan Power. I got a couple more. Cuz darn if it isn't cloudy 2 or 3 days in a row.

Put one at a time in The Room I spend the most time in.

Blow the warmer air down from the ceiling. Put the solar Fan on a High Shelf.

WHICH allows me to lower the Thermostat.

This last is a WARNING against
Solar ovens.

I bought the Best $500.00 Solar oven out there. (Went thru all of the You Tube Folks who evaluate and Test products.)

Worked Great.

Until it EXPLODED!

Tens of thousands of tiny glass shards all over my sidewalk.

Refused to Send me a New one.

(NOWHERE on their website or in Their DIRECTIONS - do they say, "Do not put frozen food in The Solar oven. I put Frozen Broccoli in it. And it blew up like a bomb.)

Thanks,
Glenn

Interesting...thanks. I had not heard of time of day billing. I see my utility company offers a couple of optional programs at this time. I noticed that the "discount" period is 1 AM to 6 AM in the summer...Awesome! It sure would not surprise me if they shift to a scenario like this at some point. If there is money for them to be made, well...

Default We live in "killer" times for prices!

Hi Glenn,

In these days of high prices and high inflation, anything that can bring the bills down in cost is welcome!

What "killer" times we live in for prices!

Best wishes,

Dien

Default How Much Does Gas For Cars & Trucks Cost DOWN UNDER?

Thanks Dien,

2 Years ago I paid 3.00 a Gallon for Fuel Oil for my Furnace.

I Just paid 3.89 for 167 gallons. 650 bucks.

AND was Happy.

Trump just hit Canada with 25% Tarriffs.

Most of USA Oil is Not Right for use as Fuel Oil.

Meaning.

Canadian Fuel Oil will have a MASSIVE IMPACT on Prices for The Next few Years.

I Jumped to ORDER Now.

Even Though - for the past 10 Years I always waited for SUMMER.
Because The Price Always DROPS by a lot.

NOT THIS TIME.

Thanks,
Glenn

My Neighbors Here in Maryland ALREADY pay THOUSANDS. in Electric Bills.
Mine is 35.00 a month.

NEXT I Figured out a Way to TURN OFF my Furnace.

Still Stay Warm as a Bug.

#1 - I put Thermostat PLUGS in all 3 Bathrooms. To turn a tiny Heater on
when the Temp Gets To 32 Degrees Ferienheit

#2 - I Closed The Doors to Family room, Dining Room, Kitchen area
Where I Burn Wood in The Fireplace. And Cook INSIDE The Fireplace. With a Little Rocket Stove for Camping.

Sounds EXTREME.

But I live way out in The Boondocks. And We Lose Power
Every Week. For an hour or two. Every 60 Days for a WEEK. Every 90 Days
A Tree or a Car Takes a Pole down. 8 to 10 days with No Power.

No Heat -
No Electricity.
No Light.
No Furnace.
No Electric Stove.

#3 - Use No-Moving Parts Dirt Cheap Heat Boards to Heat that one Area.

Default Australia exports petroleum... but you'd be shocked at the price of gasoline!

Hi Glenn,

Wow, you really think ahead with your fuel buying… That's smart!

Though many people can't - or won't - do it!

As for Australia… Australia is a petroleum exporter, so you'd think gasoline would be cheap!

But you'd be surprised…

Why?

It's because we have a huge government tax on gasoline here in Australia…

I just looked it up, and I'd say that right now, the average price is $1.97 Australian dollars per liter…

That converts to about $4.72 US dollars per gallon for gas…

It turns out that about $1.22 US dollars of that is government tax… Then a 10% sales tax is added (which is incorporated into the price here)... So the sales tax is around 43 US cents…

Therefore, in total, out of the $4.72 US dollars per gallon, about $1.65 US dollars per gallon is tax - or around 35% tax!

In contrast, I read in the US, federal tax on gasoline is around 18.4 cents per gallon - compared to $1.65 US dollars per gallon in Australia!

If Australian tax on gasoline was the same as in the USA, gas per gallon would cost more like $3.25 US dollars per gallon before sales tax - or $3.57 after you add the sales tax...

The HUGE tax on gasoline is such a money-spinner for the government in Australia, that my state (Victoria) levies an extra tax specially for electric vehicles - to compensate for the money the government's losing on electric vehicles, due to lower sales of gasoline!

So there you go…

Best wishes!

Dien

Default I Shut My FURNACE OFF and Now I Am WARMER

Thanks Dien,

Inspired by Elon Musk - who Fired 80% of Twitter Employees.

AND

Saved

1.5 BILLION BUCKS a Year.

After I paid 650 Fuel Oil plus 220 for Furnace Cleaning and Inspection.

(EDITORS NOTE - I am Testing Now. Guaranteed My 1000.00 Fuel Bill will Double then Double Again. 2K, 3K, 4K Electricity too. TRUMP hit Canada oil with a 25% Tarriff. They will Hit back.)

I Used my Back Ground in Construction
And HVAC - heat and ac.

To.

SHUT OFF MY FURNACE.

Basically I Made 4 Changes.

CHANGE #1 - I Shut the Doors to The Area I spend the most Time in.
Family room, Dining Room, Kitchen. And the location of my Fireplace.

CHANGE #2 - I Bought Thermostat Control Plugs for my 3 Bathrooms. So the Pipes don't freeze.

9 bucks for The CHEAP ones used By Farmers in Chicken Houses.

BUCK
BUCK
BAWK

CHANGE #3 - I sat a cheap heat board in each Bathroom. Plugged into The Thermostat. The Tiny heater used under Your Desk will work too.

CHANGE #4 - I Shut my Furnace off At The Electric Switch.

Will I Shut it down All Winter?

NOPE.

But a Series of SNOW STORMS are Predicted for The East Coast.

So.

Might be an Ideal TIME to Stay TOASTY WARM.

At Very little Cost.

While The Snow Falls.

Thanks,
Glenn

P.S. - I Share this idea Here for The AFFLUENT Among Your Readers.

The Millionaires on My List are The FIRST to Jump on Ideas like this.

Like Elon Did At Twitter.

If You SPEND LESS - That is moolah in the Bank.

P.P.S. - Oh Yeah. I also Got a SOLAR FAN.

Got the idea at an electric Supply Warehouse. They were Blowing HOT air down from The Ceiling.

Now I do too.

Keeps the Room by The floor - MUCH Warmer. And SOLAR costs me nothing.

USA Electricity
And Fuel oil
Gas and Oil are GUARANTEED to Jump by 50% or more in 2025.
