Folks,

Look. Here's the deal. Gordon and I are not trying to turn this into the mutual admiration society with Mike. But... what Mike says is true. He knows what he's talking about. Every spring he creates a plant buying frenzy in his area. And everyone around there knows who he is. How do I know that? Gordon and I had to stop and ask at a convenience store because we couldn't find Mike's place. And they told us *exactly* how to locate him.

And Mike's turned his knowledge into some good information products. You can check them out at http://www.homemadebooklets.com.

Hi Rick,

Thank you for the kind words.

Somebody E-mailed me from this board with a legitimate question.

He asked:

If you know how to "Make Thousands of Dollars" online as you claim, why do you still work a "dreaded day job" as you posted on the SOW pub forum?

I thought I'd post the question and the answer on this board, because this person was right to ask. It was a very fair question.

Here's my reply:

That's easy enough to answer.

I make pretty good money online, and the extra
money really allows us a lifestyle that we've never had before.

But as of today, it's not enough to replace my day job income,
benefit package, and retirement plan.

These things are really hard to walk away from.

I've got 16 years into one of the best, and most secure
pensions plans in the country.

That doesn't mean that I won't do so eventually,
and Gordon and I talked about that.

The pension plan that I have will allow me to retire at
59, and will pay me well for the rest of my life, and will
provide me with excellent health insurance until I die.

If and when I leave my "dreaded day job" it will
be a difficult decision.

********************************************

To expand on that reply, I will say this. It's all about multiple streams of income.

My gardening site sends me many thousands of dollars each year.

My booklets site send me a few thousand, but not quite as much as the gardening site, and that is a sigficant point if you're paying attention.

However, I do believe the booklets site has great potential, and I can see it evolving as I type this.

My little backyard nursery pumps out money like one of those bubble machines, but only for a few weekends each year.

Add all of that to my day job, and life is good.

Do I plan on working this hard forever?

Nope!

But I will do so until I know that I can safely back off.

My wife got laid off about 9 months ago. A traumatic experience to any family, unless they have multiple streams of income.

I'd love to leave my day job, but not until the time is right.

Thanks for asking,
Mike McGroarty
