![]() I hesitated about posting this but I was left with no other choice.
What do you do when you've made a purchase online (thru PayPal to be exact) and after 3 days you still haven't received the download link, don't hear from the seller and your emails go unanswered? Last Wednesday I bought a software program that would allow me to design 300dpi graphics of ebooks, CDs etc... from [removed]. It was supposed to be a big one-day sale event and I had been receiving several alert emails leading up to the big day. I've sent him my $50 PayPal receipt as proof of purchase but there's been nothing but silence on his end. I checked my junkmail folder and there was no message in there from him. Could this be what I'm thinking? Are there any remedial steps I can take in case of foul play? Michael Last edited by Dien Rice : November 19, 2006 at 07:22 PM. |

![]() That's bad as far as response goes but there could be valid reasons for the no response. Computer or server crash. Illness or attending a seminar somewhere . Lots of possibilities.
I'd wait a bit longer but make sure you stay within the 10 days to notify, which some outfits require if you need to request a refund. Then, if there's no response, get your money back. Good luck! Sandi Bowman |

![]() If it persists longer,
You can file a dispute with paypal. This should get the attention of the seller. But wait a couple of days at least as per Sandi's post. Goodluck Duane Quote:

![]() Hi Michael,
Some Quick research shows that [removed] seems to be Ok, so the whole email thing etc. might just be an Honest explainable problem. Might just be very busy so my suggestion would be, try posting a polite comment on his Blog and try using the good old Telephone. ![]() The Whois Databases are great for that kind of info as long as they're not under private Domain registration. Here's the whole story... Let us know how things go... And Let him know that he Got Lucky with a Free Self Promotion on a Great business forum. ![]() Oh well a Link is a Link and Whois is public information Anyways! ![]() Hi all,
Sandi, Duane and Phil.... thanks for your suggestions. I did hear from [removed] and everything is all right. Says his email filter was preventing him from getting my emails and he did come through. I chalk it up to an unfortunate situation that was not his fault. Happy holidays, Michael Last edited by Dien Rice : November 19, 2006 at 07:23 PM. |

![]() Hi,
Here are some few steps you can follow... 1. Email them your receipt and wait for 2 days. Sometimes there's a bit delay in response due to some genuine problems of the seller like some of them check their email once within 48 hours or so. 2. If this does not get you any reply, what you can do is move to whois.sc/xxx.com and type their domain name at xxx.com This will give you their address, phone number, fax number or any other personal information through which you can get back to the owner. Call them up, email them if there's some different email address out there, fax them or just mail them a letter. 3. If still no response, seems the company you purchased from is a scam probably. Ask about the company on some other big forums whether someone has any experience with them. Or you can just try out by typing the company name in Google or company name + reviews. This should give you some good or bad reviews about the company from review sites or some other sites who has some experience with them. 4. Still no response, move on to the paypal ticket system and send them the order number and receipt and inform paypal that you still haven't received the product you purchased. Tell them to inform the owner to send product instantly or either meet the refund request. I am sure paypal will do something to get you justice. Hope this helps. Your Friend, Murtuza Abbas. |
