Hi Gordon, Marketing is where I'm stumped on selling my e-book. As you pointed out in Truth #2 & #3, it takes a marriage of money and selling. Well, I have no money, but I don't mind selling. How do I market my product with no money? > And I hope you make 2002 the year, FINALLY, > you do this. > Gordon Alexander I'm ready to do it, if you'll show me how. Maybe I can be the "Student of the Student of the Masters"?? Anya :) |

Trying to market anything without any marketing 'seed money' is a tough haul. Especially if you are marketing a product that isn't sold via face-to-face methods. Selling any sort of product is a challenge. Ebooks are especially difficult. You might be better off making your ebook into a printed book using print-on-demand methods, offering it for sale that way and making the ebook offering an option. Personally I find ebooks difficult to read, any good ones I come across have to be printed out to be fully appreciated. That in itself makes printed books more valuable to me...but I think the same applies to most people. If an ebook has a value rating of '1' the same thing in a printed format is probably at least a '5' if not more. Marketing anything doesn't have to be expensive. Heck a 1/4 page newspaper ad in a many daily newspapers is only about $6 per thousand impressions. That means you can reach 30,000 people via a test ad for about $180. Classifieds are even cheaper. But the fact is you do need some kind of money to get started. Not a lot but some. Where to get the money? Check out Gordon's Chattel Report. He gives a step by step method of how to create extra income by starting out with less than $100. It is a solid method. Don Alm is a master at creating income through simple ideas. You said you like to sell right? Then take advantage of Don's ideas. Create some extra income and then use that extra income to market you other ideas. The other point I want to make is that having just one item in the hopper is probably not going to lead to success. Even the best marketers have had to try many different items before they find one that blows the lid off sales. You'll probably need more than one ebook/book title to have a good chance at success. If you combine multiple products with careful testing you'll eventually find a winner. The chances of becoming financially secure without having invested some money in marketing is somewhere between slim and none, and slim just left town. Take care, Mike Winicki |

Yes, I would like to explore that option. > The other point I want to make is that > having just one item in the hopper is > probably not going to lead to success. The hitch is, I need a program such as Adobe in order to do pdf files (for this project, I emailed Gordon the text and pictures and he converted it to pdf for me) and as soon as I can afford it, I will get it. I do want to write more "companion" ebooks to go with the one I already did, plus some on other topics I've got buzzing around my head now! > Take care, > Mike Winicki Thank you Mike, for all your kind and helpful comments.
