![]() Hello,
Just a quick question… and hopefully, a simple one. :-) I wrote up a sales letter that I was going to place on a website. So, I wrote up the letter on Frontpage. Then I decided to email this sales letter instead of placing it on the website. So, I just copied and pasted the letter from Frontpage into a “new message” on my Outlook Express. I sent the email to myself to see if the format stayed the same. And, it did. So… now for my question. :-) Does this mean that the letter’s format (tables, color, font, etc.) will stay the same no matter whom I email the letter to... or what type of email program the recipient has? I don’t want to send the sales letter out this way if it will get all jumbled up in the process. Thank you in advance for your assistance. Cordially, Diane Everroad It Works! ![]() |

![]() What your letter will look like depends on how your intended recipients have their email clients configured.
When I get html letters, what I see is the code, with the message mixed in. I specifically bar my client from automatically showing the message as a 'page.' Unless I know the sender, I just delete the message without bothering to see it translated to colors, pictures, etc. I do it in self-defense. It prevents programs (read malicious code - *.js and *.vbs scripts ) embedded in the code from executing on my computer. Of course, my client is also configured with my virus protection, which adds another layer of protection. Mary |

![]() Hi Diane,
Put your sales letter on a website in the normal manner, then insert the link in a simple introductory email. Master marketer, Mark Joyner (Aesop.com) has used this technique for his weekly newsletter "The Killer Tactics Journal" very successfully for years now. The other advantage of doing it this way, is that you can install a tracking script on the webpage to gauge the response and clickthroughs. Just my two cents. ![]() First, let me say thank you, Marye and Ricky, for your quick assistance!
I decided to go with Ricky's suggestion... > Put your sales letter on a website in the > normal manner, then insert the link in a > simple introductory email. So, now, I'm writing up several emails to send out. I'm going to write up the 1st one to invite the reader to go to the webpage. The 2nd email will be for those that didn't check out the webpage. And lastly, the 3rd email to state the consequences of their not checking out the webpage. > The other advantage of doing it this way, is > that you can install a tracking script on > the webpage to gauge the response and > clickthroughs. I totally agree, Ricky. You have to be able to track your results. Otherwise, you're just throwing mud on the wall... and *hoping* something sticks! :-) As always, thank you. Cordially, Diane Everroad P.S. Ricky... It seems the only time I ever "speak" to you is when you're helping me out! :-) I hope everything is going GREAT for you and your's! It Works! ![]() |

![]() I have several newsletters sent to me in exactly the manner that Ricky suggests, and I always click through to the website to see what's up.
The most recent one was from Paul Myer, who had some interesting things to say about ISP spam filters. Here's the link: http://www.talkbiz.com/assassin.html I suggest that all of you newsletter writers may be interested in clicking through on this one. Mary You HAD mail . . . Paul's article |

![]() Hello Marye,
Thank you again. The article by Paul Myer is quite interesting... and I see why you suggested that we read it! > The most recent one was from Paul Myer, who > had some interesting things to say about ISP > spam filters. > Here's the link: > http://www.talkbiz.com/assassin.html I > suggest that all of you newsletter writers > may be interested in clicking through on > this one. Already, I have changed the wording of my emails and subject lines. Cordially, Diane Everroad It Works! ![]() |
