However, do you really need a kit? Take a look at the components. 1. Stencils for the numbers. Should be available too many places to list. 2. Black (or white) spray paint for the background. 3. White (or black) spray paint for the numbers. Note: This is not *any* old spray paint. There is special "road" paint that wears well and shows up well. However, I also know that this paint is available. You should be able to just call your local highway department to get the details. 4. Some flyers. These could be very similar to the ones discussed by Hugh Gaugler and others. 5. Some time to start putting out flyers. Oh you could get fancy with contracts and all kinds of other stuff. But what I listed above will get you going barebones. You can add the other stuff later. How do I know about this? Well, I don't do this as a business. But I helped, (with our Scout troop), a kid do this for his Eagle Scout project a number of years ago. Keep in mind you will need to check city ordinances, etc. HTH, Rick Smith, "The Net Guerrilla" Click Here to Be Successful in Any Area of Your Life in Only 10 Days |

A friend of mine and I did OK with it, but it was very undependable as far as response and income was concerned. The Children's Hospital was deluged with calls from those receiving fliers about the validity of the program. Fliers can produce well and then not at all for no reason. Last year I learned of a campaign by the Fire Dept. in my city that urged residents to have their address clearly visible for emergency calls. I got some of their campaign materials, including a photo of a billboard that practically "pleaded" with home resisdents to have their addresses clearly visible at all times for safety reasons. I then started to experiment with several approaches and discovered several very interesting marketing strategies that appealed to human nature and have been consistently doing as much business as I care to handle - day in and day out! I tried this out in several cities and it works well when the marketing structure is followed. I also do the addresses different from what people are used to and that's part of the great response rate. I'm developing a business kit and manual now to market for people to profit from. I'm not sure when it will be complete - possibly in a month or two, since it's very detailed with lots of inter-connecting strategies. You may want to go with Address America now, but I don't know if they offer curb address info, since they appear to be strictly lawn signs. That could be a problem with some Home Owner's Associations. Lawrence |
