Great Ideas to free Hotmail address?

Can you not send Great Ideas to a free Hotmail address? Until my site is up, it's all I have. If I need to we could set up an account for me at my son's domain. Drawback there is we can receive fine but can't send because we just switched to MSN for ISP and now they say we can't send email with our own domain address because it's not hosted at MSN. Is that right or is there a way "around" that glitch? I guess the search for good ISP continues.
