Here's a fun and interesting little promotion I came across...

"FREE Bag of Carrots With Every Tyre"

It's simple. It's pretty cheap to implement!

But... It got them some free media - at least on a UK website and magazine devoted to the tire industry!

It shows that promotions don't have to be expensive... Yet they can still get attention!
