Further, it's not accidental that search engines were the first commercial entities on the web.

Internet marketing isn't mailorder. The people who try to use mailorder techniques on the net are the ones who:

* Take advantage of email to send out bulk crap spam salesletters by the millions.

* Cross-post drive-by crap spam articles to every forum on the web.

* In short, try to "find" customers.

To use the Web properly, be a spider. Make a nice web and when a bug wanders in jump on him in a millisecond and wrap him up in a neat package.
