![]() Hi,
I think everyone has made some excellent points! One theme that seems to run through them is this: Be real... Be yourself... ...and talk to your customers they way they want to be talked to. I liked what John said, "I have decided I would rather be me, and develop my own style and take the hits along the way, and truly deliver a product that has value than anything else at the moment" So, is the consensus that there's too much hype and not enough substance? Yes, it looks that way. So why do most 'guru's' keep doing the same thing over and over again? Because everyone else is doing it? Or maybe it's because they are a guru and it's 'expected' that they provide each other with 'testimonials' and inject a good amount of 'hype' in the description of the product? One of my favorite online 'personalities' is Phil Wiley. His 'All the Secrets' letter is an honest discussion of what it really takes to succeed. He tells you it's work (and fun!). I trust him. I like him. I buy his stuff. Maybe that's the real secret to success :-) Thanks for all the great responses! -Dave Phil Wiley's Main Web Site |
