![]() Glad to read you are taking that road!
If you believe what you wrote...read...and study Daniel chapter 7 + 11 and all of Revelation. For further TRUTH on the subject go to the web of ChristianMediaNetwork.com for Modern day Prophecy. My best for you. P.S. My original post has advice and links that if others take time to research will perhaps learn as much as you have, that's my hope. |

![]() > Thanks John for your advice. Researching
> those words opened my eyes to the fact that > only God's opinion matters. > But asking Jesus Christ to forgive me and by > accepting the fact that he alone is the way > will! > And for that I thank Jesus! As a fellow believer and follower of Jesus Christ, I say a hearty "Amen!". I have done some reading on shadow governments and conspiracies and the like myself. While I have come to believe that there are some 'interesting' and scary things going on behind the scenes both domestically & internationally (and I agree with some of what John was saying or implying), one also needs to realize 1) some things ARE coincidental and not necessarily the result of a master plan; 2) it is reasonable to expect that people with similar beliefs, interests, or responsibilities will end up on or belong to same/similar organizations, committees, etc.; and 3) be careful not to become so paranoid that you see conspiracies behind every door, spies around every corner, and you start to distrust everyone & everything. In recent months I have also developed quite an interest in Bible prophecy and various eschatological issues. (In fact, I've considered putting up a website on the subject but just don't have the time these days.) My thoughts here are similar to what I said above. While I do take the Bible literally and believe that there are some scary times ahead (whether the events described in Revelation come in our lifetime, no one can say for sure), I also don't think it behooves anyone to become preoccupied with such things or caught up in the "doomsday hysteria". Whereas Scripture commands us to be watchful & alert, the main intent of these prophecies was to comfort and assure the faithful of God's provision for them at the end of human history, when evil is finally conquered. So, the important thing is to trust in God, follow Jesus, live our lives for Him and be prepared for whatever comes. Whew! Well, that was a little more than I intended to say, but I meant every word. If anyone has questions or wants to discuss it more, please don't hesitate to email me. Chris |

![]() Hi Chris, I agree with you on the dangers of being paranoid. We seem to attract what we focus on. So instead of focusing on doom and gloom I chose to focus on what's right like the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Maybe the paranoid haven't heard the good news about God. I'm not a person of great faith and I don't know the mind of God. I simply choose to believe that God is far more loving than what most bible thumpers make him out to be.

![]() From a roundup of some of the ground-breaking marketing innovations holding US consumers in thrall:
http://media.guardian.co.uk/mediaguardian/story/0,7558,852021,00.html It says: Christian leaders started this campaign to remind consumers that bearing arms is not just a right, but a moral duty. Polls show that most Americans think Jesus would carry a Peacekeeper 45 single-action revolver, but sales of muzzle-loading rifles are up as well. ![]() "Peacekeeper", heh! Not sure if I appreciate the attempt at humor here, but I do know the image of Jesus carrying a gun is rather disturbing.
At least one of the apostles carried a sword -- Peter, I believe, who was always getting into trouble --, and when he used it in defense of the Lord when soldiers came to arrest Him, Jesus rebuked him with (and I paraphrase slightly) "Put that away! Don't you know that those who draw the sword will die by the sword?" and "Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?" Then He healed the injured man. Now, I'm not saying that proves anything one way or the other. That was certainly a special set of circumstances. I'm not sure if there ever would have been a situation that Jesus would have approved of swordplay, but if so, it surely would only be in defense (and self-defense?) of others. And I kind of doubt He would use one Himself -- kinda goes against His character. As for guns... we're talkin' a whole 'nother time, place, & culture, now. I'll need to think on that one some more. But, there are two things I do know: 1) I personally support the citizens' right to bear arms (within reason); and 2) when Christ returns, it will be "with power and great glory" and He sure won't need guns to defend Himself and His followers. ![]() John, I'd like to follow up on some of this stuff with you, but I think it would be better if we took it off the board. While we do get sidetracked now & again, I think we may be getting a bit far off from the usual range of topics for this forum. Why don't you shoot me an email at the above address (less the "SPAMFREE", of course)?

![]() Hey thanks for that info - I've got a pocket Constitution myself and wondered where you got them from (a senator gave me mine).
Enjoyed the little guns talk - can I say as a non-US citizen that you do not want to give up your right to keep and bear arms. Mussolini, Hitler, the Chinese dictators all took that right away... Governments derive their just powers from the governed. The army keeps and bears arms because *you* have that right. If you did not then the army could not have it! You gave it to them. And as far as militia are concerned: I think you'll find that most people on this forum who are American are militia by the Founders' definition Ah, enough; I'm getting political ;) Thanks again for your info and support for the Constitution!
