Default Selling on the 'Net question

This may not be the place for a question like this, but here goes.

I'd like to sell an ebook and then on the "Thank you" page offer another book for a ONE TIME offer. Then, each buyer gets a chance to become an affiliate for 100% commision.

How can this be done?

Basically, you are creating a viral offer and making the front end sale and then a few back-end sales, while building a list.

Warmly,

Millard

Default My opinion Millard, when I come across OTO on the Thank You page...

I NEVER buy again and may ask for an instant refund.

Try it, but don't be surprised that instead of increasing sales, it pizzes people off.

Test it out and let us know, OK?

Hi Millard,

This is a pretty common practice among Internet Marketers nowadays, but I can't say if it works well or not.

Your success will depend upon how strong your OTO is, and the mood of your buyers.

For me, I just pass on them.

Hi Millard,

I see more marketers putting the upsell on the order form. When they get to the end of the sales page and click a link or button to order, then there is an upsell. But it states near the top that "To continue with your original order please scroll to the order form below". If the upsell catches their attention, there is a link that says "Click here to add this to your order too." This way they only have to submit their information one time.

I guess part of how you do it will depend on your ordering process. This can be done easily enough with 1shoppingcart or Infusionsoft.com (using order forms rather than the cart). I would imagine it can be done on any ordering system where you have the opportunity to add text/html to the top of the order form.

If you are also adding them to an autoresponder, then you would also need two. When you follow-up you don't want to send customers who have already bought both products, another offer to buy the second one again.

Best Regards,

Thanks for the input guys!

Perhaps just having an offer via the follow-up emails would increase some response. I am looking for a more viral response.....

I'll test a few things and get back.

Again, thanks!

Hi Millard,

Here's the basic info that explains things overall that you can do on a low startup budget... $7...

Although, I agree in some ways with Gordon's comments on OTO's and a few others...

But I can tell you, successful internet marketers like Frank Bruno, the Rhodes brothers and many others are very successful with their OTO methods...

Good information, never the less and I would recommend contacting them if you're interested in more details or try running through their OTO's for more food for thought...
