Default Finding a Bob Morrison book

[Posted by killarney:]

Bob Morrison is a legendary direct marketing guy who sold a lot of business books successfully through the mail. I have a couple.

However, I have not been able to find the book "How To Steal A Business". Don Alm posted a few years back on Morrison. Don, can you or someone else point me in the right direction.

Tom

Hi, Tom - Amazon.com lists this as out of print; the author's details given are Robert L Morrison.

Not sure if that helps in any way. A quick surf through Google revealed nothing.

It might be that your local library would be able to tell you if they have it. Here in the UK, you can request a local library to find a book which you can borrow for a few weeks from a central lending facility. Don't know what the US equivalent would be.

Best
Margaret

Search on eBay.

Bob's son sells his books on eBay from time to time. I had bought a couple from him 2 years back or so.

Here's a site that appears to sell a book by him.. Maybe they'll know how to access his other material. Hope it helps:
http://www.sobsucceed.com/

Good luck,
Joe

I guess Don won't be selling any of his Bob Morrison stuff...
http://www.sowpub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1389

But maybe Don will share the Publisher details etc. to order one of those out of print copies from the Publisher or the codes and numbers to help Find it through your Library system/Used book stores...

Unfortunately it not available through the http://www.bookfinder.com/
Network...

And the recommended resource http://www.sobsucceed.com/ is probably not a connection as I believe it's just a Reseller and maybe not the same Bob Morrison according to some WHOIS research... http://www.domaintools.com/

As you'll see it's an interesting Domaining tool...

Phil

The recommended resource DOES have the the book you are looking for! You just have to buy the first ebook for $10 and the upsell is to the book that you wanted for $17.

Dear Tom,

Thanks.

I know Bob. Haven't spoken to him recently.

Last we spoke - he was s elling distributorships to ALL his books and materials to Highest bidders in various countries. (Like Ted Nicholas does)

Are you talking about his book, **How to Steal a Job**

I've read almost all his books. Don't know the "Steal a Biz book."

I used to order a case of his *Why SOB's Succeed in Biz and Nice Guys Fail* books for 10.00 each.

Sell them for 50.00 each.

Last we spoke Bob called me about an Ebay auction - where I was S elling a 6 hr CD program - a bunch of his short cuts to making Munny. (6 Notorious Jay Abraham Emergency Cash Shortcuts)

He bought a copy of the CD program.

I sat at his table at 15 different Jay Abraham Protege Boot Camps - taking notes of all his seat of the pants money making tactics. NOT anything in his books.

He was curious to see everything all in one place.

Great fun. I still make Munny with some of his ideas.

Happy Holidays...

I have the "How to Steal a Business" Book.

As a professional (full-time) business broker, I don't think the takeover ideas are workable. Also, the business valuation methods are suspect.

Even though I don't recommend the book, here's how to get a copy:

Just go to his website: http://www.fmaassets.com/

Bob's phone and fax # are at the top. Just call him up and order it.

~Pickle~

P.S. If you are looking for some better ways to take over businesses with little to no money, then I recommend Gordon Bizar. (bizarfinancing.com), or if you have the money, then I recommend Dan Pena (danpena.com, I think).

Pickle,

Can you talk about why you think the business takeover principles in the book are unworkable?

Thanks,

Tom

I purchased Bob's book, "Promoter's Gold" last year from www.abebooks.com

Only paid a few dollars for it and it's in great shape!

I searched for Bob's name on www.abebooks.com tonight and found this:

Why S.O.B.'s Succeed and Nice Guys Fail in a Small Business, Price $9.99

Enjoy!
