Default General: LESSON #1 SQ1: How to Make $100,000.00 (or Extra 100) this year.

This forum is going to be different from a lot of the forums. As if you didn't already know that.

And remember, we AIN'T open yet either.

Dien and I are testing. Getting our toes wet before we take the plunge on Sept. 1.

But I want to get started on the SQUARE ONE WORKSHOPS posts. Let you see. Let you PARTICIPATE.

Today I'm going to teach you how to use the POA, the Pyramid of Accomplishmet (aka the Progression of Activity)...

I've set a goal for you. The goal is to either make $100,000.00 in a year, or to make an EXTRA 100k...

Many people who come here already make the 100+

they do just fine, thank you very much. Many others DON'T.

So the goal is to either reach 100 thousand, or to ADD a hundred thousand to your current income.

HOW? Don't worry about that just yet. And FYI, when I say this year, I'm talking about the year from the time YOU start...not a numeric year, like 2000...

I'm speaking of 365 days as "this" year. When you start, then the year begins.

Grab a blank piece of paper from your printer.

You are going to create your own POA. I prefer to make my Pictogrigms in a Landscape format, meaning the 8.5" X 11" paper is laying in front of me with the 11" on the bottom.

But it doesn't matter. You do it however you want, that is the beauty of SQ1: PERSONALIZATION.

Here is another look at the POA:

Take a look at it.

Now you are going to make your own.

Put your LIFELINE about 3/4 of the way up...now it doesn't have to be exact. You just want to have lots of room below the lifeline to fill in the POA

Below is DIAGRIGM OF LIFE. You will note that on the lifeline is the little triangle that represents the tip of the POA. It is one of the 3 realms we travel through.

What we DO. What we HAVE. What we THINK.

The POA is a TOOL that helps us set and ACHIEVE goals.

That is what we are doing today. Setting a goal.

Now, I've selected 100 thousand dollars for you. But feel free to change it. Make it whatever you want and BELIEVE you can accomplish in one year.

For the example, I'll stick with 100 thousand dollars.

On the piece of paper make a large triangle, or pyramid, just as you see above.

Make it just pop up above your life line. Put youself on the lifeline represented by a stick figure to the LEFT of the small triangle.

Are you with me?

See, on the Diagrigm of Life, we travel from our birth to our death. From left to right.

So we design our tools to mirror this. The POA is a tool, only one of several, we will teach people to use.

And I'm going to talk to you as if you were in training to become a SQ1 INSTRUCTOR, some of you are.

You should have your POA drawn. You should have a stick figure on the lifeline, to the left of the POA.

Now write $100,000.00 ABOVE the POA. Then write it again at the BASE in the Middle. The beginning and the end is the same thing.

This is the great secret of accomplishment, that is setting a goal, and having it in such experiential detail, knowing EXACTLY and SPECIFICALLY what you want...

And I'll explain the WHY as we go along. But today, let's get the POA done, OK?

The space between the stick figure and the tip of the POA represents TIME, in this case one year. Write ONE YEAR in this space and also on the bottom and make a dotted line along the outside of the POA like you see above.

This represents the SMALL chunks of Activity you are going to have to DO to manifest your goal.

It is a broken line, because we achieve in small efforts that ACCUMLUATE. The power of cumulative effort is similar to the power of compounded interest in finaces. You will learn that the Mental or thought realm has a physical counterpart in the solid or material world.

You now have your GOAL above the POA and in the middle at the base.

You have a time line, a DEADLINE for reaching this goal.

Note, you don't have a plan YET, that comes after this part.

The first thing you must do, the first ACTIVITY the first ACTION STEP is to

GO TO BELIEF...

And you will see EXIT ONE on the POA comes before you even get to BELIEF.

This explains why so many people START a project, yet quit very quickly into it. How about an example.

I had the privledge and pleasure watching the Late Joe Victor build his AMWAY business to the point where he became a multi-millionaire. His son Jody is also a multi-millionaire from AMWAY.

Every year thousands of people will join some MLM or attempt to do a business or money making venture.

The first that happens is when they tell people and that BLAST of ARTIC air comes rushing in, in the form of:

"YOU Can't do that".

"Why are you WASTING you time with that."

"YOU got sucked into that?"

And a 1001 variations.

This comes from LOVED ones, friends, and family.

So what happens is DOUBT. Look on the POL and see the circle of mind/body and you see that what effects one, effects the other.

So a person has doubt. They DON'T believe they can do it. They CAN'T do it because they have allowed this negativity to enter their mind, and thus effect their body (or activity).

The first step to ACCOMPLISHMENT, is to believe that you can.

If you have never made 100 grand a year before, and you are an Average American at the 26 thousand level, what happens?

You CAN'T go to belief. You have no experience. You have doubt.

The Gordon Alexander Triad of Life goes:

Doubt is the shadow of our fear.
Confidence is the result of our experience.

Action is the revelation of our faith.

So if you can't BELIEVE you can make 100k in a year, you CAN'T. NOW you can see the physical and psychological REASONS for this on the POL.

I'm telling you folks, these SIMPLE child like drawings are very powerful tools once you Master them.

Some people visiting this forum and sowpub, like Jim Straw and Melvin Powers, they have NO DOUBT they can make an EXTRA 100,000 dollars.

Their confidence is based upon their EXPERIENCES.

But if you have never done it, and have doubt about doing it, friend you are DOOMED from the start.

So the first chance at quitting, at giving up on your goal or dream occurs because you can't even believe you can do it.

But what if you can get to belief?

What if you say, "OK, Gordon I believe I can make 100 thousand dollars, if you show me how."

I'd say great. Let's get started.

Look on the POL. How do you get to belief? You will find belief in the upper left part of the page, it is an extension of THOUGHT.

It is both stimuli and brain activity. Functional excitement. Belief (faith) is a state of mind.

Is this starting to come together a little bit?

HONEST, it ain't rocket science, and once you get the hang of using the Pictogrigms, you will be amazed at how simple these tools work for you.

And that is what SQUARE ONE WORKSHOPS is, it's a tool. Nothing more. Nothing mystical or magical. Just simple tools to help explain things.

Back to the 100K POA, OK?

Oh, by the way, I've just decided that I'm NOW an "official sponsor" of

FUN.

Maybe I'll offer certification in that too...HA!

If you can get to belief, and there will more on that in LESSON TWO, then you can CENTER YOUR THOUGHTS (FOCUS) on the goal and come up with a PLAN.

See, you have to have a plan. You have a goal, 100 thousand dollars. Now how are you going to get it...

We'll work on the PLAN in LESSON TWO...

in the meantime, print out this and make your own POA. I like to use crayons when I do it,

after all,

I art as a child,

Gordon (don't want to overload you) Alexander

Default Joy Vs. Belief

You DON’T need to believe you can do it to be successful.

I’ve heard so many successful people say, “I always knew I’d make it. I ALWAYS believed.”

That’s NOT how it was with me. I NEVER thought I’d make it. 1993 was my 15th year driving a county bus in Miami & Miami Beach. I’d started and failed so many businesses, I lost count. None was even close to a success. I couldn’t sell a lick. Did one dumb thing after another. I cost my family tens of thousands of dollars.

But a funny thing happened along the way – I had discovered writing was a joy for me. I bought tapes, went to seminars by the top people in marketing. My writing got better. I studied ads written by masters, used their techniques in my ads.

Still no money. But I couldn’t quit, because it was fun. I wrote a script for an audiotape that I recorded. In June of 1993, I placed a twenty-dollar classified ad offering free information. When people called, I sent them a flyer about my tape.

And they ordered. That ad was profitable the first week. And eight years later, my business has made lot of money. I retired from bus driving in August, 1994.

Do I believe now? Yes. I do. But I never believed back then. And if you don’t believe you can be successful, so what? Just find something that’s a joy for you – and do it. Something you’d do for fun, even if you never got paid.

I’s out there. And you deserve that joy. Not to mention the money that comes with it.

So here’s a simple technique that’s really hot. This’ll help you get past the part where your mind says, “You can’t do it.” You know those times you try and fail and start thinking, “It won’t work for me?” When you hear that thought, just answer, “Okay. But if it did, how would it work?”

Keep asking yourself that question. Write down the answers. You’ll come up with the missing parts.

Default Re: Joy Vs. Belief

> You DON’T need to believe you can do it to
> be successful.

Richard,

You've REVEALED the secret. I have to fold up my tent and go home. There is nothing left to say.

Within us all is a secret.

It is a small box. Locked.

Within that box is our MISSION.

Given to us at birth. What is the mission?

What is locked inside that box?

It is our purpose. Our mission. Our passion.

All these things locked inside that little box.

It is our JOY.

But Richard, you are one of the lucky ones.

You finally "stumbled" upon the key to the box.

I wonder aloud if you could have found that key sooner. Quicker.

You were looking for it. You were a seeker.
You tried. You made effort.

But until that discovery, the discovery that writing was a joy, you struggled.

But the joy was always there, within that box.

The DEMONSTRATION of your BELIEF was in your persistance.

You kept looking. Trying. FAILING.

But you didn't QUIT the pursuit. You did not leave the POA on one of the 7 exits.

NO.

But here is the part of your post I'm going to take issue with...

Just find something that’s a joy for you – and do it

My friend.

I have counseled thousands of people and the most difficult thing in the world is to have people

JUST FIND SOMETHING THAT'S A JOY...

You didn't JUST FIND your joy. You DISCOVERED it. And it took years of effort and searching.

Most are not so persistant. They DON'T EVER find their joy.

Sure, activity that may make them feel good. For awhile. But most NEVER make that discovery.

Most NEVER find what it is that gives them joy.

They never unlock the box and get to passion. Or mission.

HOW will I help these people?

See, you reached the TOP of the DOL, the peak, which is the SPIRITUAL place. When I post the other pictogrigms, you'll see instantly what I mean.

But Richard, you are NOT normal. In that you have that spiritual side, the spiritual seeker.

Most people don't discover that part of themselves, if they ever do, until much later in life.

YOU started on a higher plane than most.

I start on the bottom. The brown and gold, what is within the EARTH. What MOST people THINK they seek.

The gold. The diamonds. The transformed iron ore.

Because that is what they see. What they know. What they are surrounded by.

So as they WORK to pay the bills and buy the THINGS they need in life, they seldom look up (or within) and worry about joy.

I've got to take the masses from the material, the physical world, step-by-step.

Through the KNOWLEDGE of how to FOCUS, how to use their systems, including belief, to OBTAIN the material. Only then can they have a chance of discovering the KEY.

If I started out and told everyone the TRUTH of your post.

And said it was as simple as

FIND YOUR JOY...

Most would leave, cause they are clueless as to how to do that.

Joy has the vibration of eternity as opposed to happiness, with the shorter vibration of defined times.

I was happy when Richard found his cassette tape worked OK.

I am joyful I've found my purpose.

I think you know what I mean.

I don't disagree with you. YOU ARE 100% RIGHT.

But it is that itty bitty word JUST....

that makes it so difficult for so many.

Just Do It.

Just get a job.

Just find your JOY. OK. HOW?

That is the treasure hunt I'm taking people on. You have already found it.

Now, follow the divine mandate that comes with your discovery,

SHARE IT.

And you are doing that here, aren't you?

Thanks for your insight.

Default Belief In Yourself

Richard ~

Great post! Not many would go public with the fact they had so many hurdles to leap. And that's what they were... Hurdles and Obstacles!

Not Failures!!!

Failures are where someone actually throws his or her hands up and screams, "I QUIT!!!. But not you...

You wrote you didn't "believe you could do it". I take exception...

You BELIEVED in yourself!!!

There is a huge difference there. Persistence is the key... And even if you were persistent, had you not had the belief in yourself you would have quit a long time ago and still be driving the bus.

Many of the greatest all time successful people had to overcome what seemed like insurmountable hurdles and obstacles. From financial woes, educational shortcomings, all the way to criticism from their peers and family. But what they lacked in other areas... They made up with persistence and belief.

Never again Richard tell us you didn't have belief in yourself. You wouldn't be here today where you're at, if you didn't.

Congratulations on being able to do what you want to do. And to leave a job you no longer wanted to be in. It's another inspiration to many, that their dreams can, and will, be attained.

We just need to be persistent and hold onto the fundamental belief, that we are deserving of these riches. Be it, wealth, family, happiness or the love of a life partner.

It takes no effort of the mind to stay in a poverty stricken and accepting mode. We can all rationalize why we can't have something. The hard part is to reprogram our minds to start believing we are worthy and deserving of the finer things in life. To make those thought patterns become a habit...

You made them a habit and stuck to them. To those, will belong their dreams, goals and desires.

What a great time to be making those changes in our thought-making processes! With the Internet and all of the opportunity surrounding us... We should all one day get together for a congratulatory dinner! (And a bottle of good wine or two!)

Default General: LESSON #1 a PAGE 36

I once belonged to a study group on success, mostly based upon the teachings of Napoleon Hill.

You should form one in your community. Or start a SQUARE ONE WORKSHOPS program...

Anyway, we used to start each meeting by reading PAGE 36.

Art Williams sold his insurance company for MILLIONS of dollars, and in his tapes, he used to talk about how page 36 changed his life.

You have just received the first lesson in SQ1.

Here is page 36 (as it was in the Fawcett World Library edition, with the green, blue, yellow cover)

See if you can connect what Napoleon Hill writes with the POA and the POL.

Begin Page 36:

Six Ways to Turn Desires into Gold.

The method by which desire for riches can be transmuted into its financial equivalent, consists fo six definite, practical steps, viz:

First: fix in your mind the exact amount of money you desire. It is not sufficient merely to say "I want plenty of money." Be definite as to the amount. (There is a psychological reason for definitenes which will be described in a subsequent chapter.)

Second: determine exactly what you intend to give in return for the money you desire. (There is no such reality as "something for nothing.")

Third: establish a definite date when you intend to possess the money you desire.

Fourth: create a definite plan for carrying out your desire, and begin at once, whether you are ready or not, to put this plan into action.

Fifth: write out a clear, concise statement of the amount of money you intend to acquire, name the time limit for its acquistion, state what you intend to give in return for the money, and describe clearly the plan through which you intend to accumulate it.

Sixth: read your written statement aloud, twice daily, once just before retiring at night, and once after arising in the morning. As you read--see and feel and believe yourself in possession of the money.

It is important that you follow the instructions described in these six steps. It is especially important that you observe, and follow the the instruction in the sixth paragraph. You may complain that is is impossible for you to "see yourself in possession of money" before you actually have it. Here is where a burning desire will come to your aid. If you truly desire money so keenly that your desire is an obssession, you will have no difficulty in convincing yourself that you will acquire it. The object is to want money, and to become so determined to have it that you convince yourself you will have it.

END OF PAGE 36 FROM NAPOLEON HILL'S THINK AND GROW RICH.

Think and Grow Rich is one of the all time best sellers. It has been read by MILLIONS of men and women.

Yet I wonder how many have actually DONE what Napoleon Hill said? I can say this, the people I know who took the time to WRITE out their goals, develop a plan, execute the plan, and continue with the plan through thick and thin,

were the ones that reached their goals.

One thing I wanted to KNOW as a young man when I first read this was:

WHY? Why does it work?

And most people said, "It doesn't matter WHY it works, it just does."

Not good enough for me. After all, I'm the Cuckoo Clock Kid.

Think and Grow Rich is one of a thousand books I've read on success and achievement. But NO one, no where, would tell me HOW it worked.

So I developed SQUARE ONE WORKSHOPS to tell you the WHY'S and hows of life.

Can you see the why and how of PAGE 36?

DO you see the mind/body principle here?

Do you understand the connection between BELIEF and ACTION?

Do you now see why having a definite deadline is necessary? Or

Why VISUALIZATION plays a part?

You will.

Do you have a copy of THINK AND GROW RICH? Get one. I'll be referring to it often. It is one of the best books ever written on the subject of success.

The POA is a visual representation of Page 36, along with the WHY and HOW found on the POL...

Default ''Think and Grow Rich'' by Napoleon Hill

Gordon ~

I'm reading this book for the second time this month (July). I've read it many times before and the pages are getting really thumbed and even starting to yellow with age a little! (I can't be getting this old!!)

Anyway... One of the things I've noticed is when I read this book, many years ago when first starting out in sales. My sales literally blew off the charts! Just like an airplane needs to be at full throttle for take-off to get itself off the ground...

Then once airborne... I eased back considerably on the throttle, and was able to fly at high altitudes, with a minimum of effort.

Only within the last couple of months have I started to become tired of piloting the aircraft I'm currently in. And in reading 'Think and Grow Rich' again to jumpstart myself. I found a new excitement again!

What a tremendous book! Even though any of us can purchase a "How to" manual on any subject complete with the tools you need to accomplish it... Very few have the motivation, drive, desire or belief they need to make the plane fly!

I find this forum a refreshing break from the regular "Review my website", "Need an Autoresponder", "The Best Merchant Account" types of posts...

Send some info on the SQ1 seminars... Motivating and helping others achieve their dreams, goals and desires is a fulfilling objective.

~ Mike
