Default Seeing "connections" Making "connections"...

I just had a thought...and I may be way off with this thinking...I know someone here has to know...Has anyone thought about all the dead links that exist on websites? I ask because it would seem to me that if you have a link page on your site...wouldn't you want those links to be and stay active? I would think that would be a good source of affiliate/JV income. My thoughts were this...

Why are website owners not keeping their links active? And for whatever reason that they are not...What if you came along and found all those dead links, made them active again (in some way, maybe the site isn't up anymore and the domain is free) and then for doing so, get your cut of the RENEWED/REFRESHED/NEW traffic/income?

It seems almost too simple. I say that because with just an internet search I find all kinds of sites offering software that will find those dead links for you.

So why wouldn't the site owner/owners do it themselves?

Is it because they are too busy RUNNING there business? Kind of like Gordon told me about another biz/marketing situation?

Seems like a PERFECT opportunity to get control of an underutilized asset.

Thoughts? Ideas?

Fred

Here are 3 sites you can utilize to find dead links:

http://www.brokenlinkcheck.com/

http://www.deadlinkchecker.com/

http://www.wpuniversity.com/blog/5-t...d-broken-links

I don't know if that will help you in your quest, but it's a start.

Thanks for the reply post.

I didn't mean for my post to sound like I needed help finding dead links.

What I'm trying to understand is this....

Why are website owners NOT DOING this themselves?

I find dead links ALL THE TIME on other peoples/owners sites. And what I want to know...

...does anyone here know if this is a viable way of setting up a "Toll Position"/JV income stream by FIXING their dead links for THEM.

Hope that clarifies.

Thanks again.

Fred

Default Blast from the past, 2006 revisited..........

Hi Fred:

Back in 2006, Skip Rosell came out with a report called "Broken Links Cash Flow System".

Will this still work in 2016? That's for you to decide.

If you want a copy of Skip's report, just Private Message me your email address, and Ill send it out to you.

All the best,

JohnnyB

Awesome JohnnyB! And thank you very much for the offer.

I'll take a look for sure. I do hope though others have some input.

To me broken links seem just like an underutilized asset/stored value asset that isn't being optimized.

Guess I'll find out.

Thanks again.

I don't think most website owners actually know how to check for dead links on their websites, and most probably don't care.

You can utilize dead links/dead websites for Search Engine Optimization purposes, either by buying the old website that is now defunct, or by finding out what they previously linked to and creating a new page on your website with similar but better information, and letting the owner know about their dead link and asking them to link to your site instead.

There is an industry in this segment, but maybe you can figure out a better way to capitalize on it.

Thanks Shelby. Your line of thought was exactly my line of thought. Gaining access to the link itself...the old site it links to (if you can buy it) etc...etc...I'm gearing up for and idea Gordon gave me recently having to do with offline advertising and creating the ongoing Toll Booth type income. Appreciate the input everyone gave.

Be creative in how you approach webmasters.

I tend to delete the broken link emails I get without reading much (if anything) in the email.

Why? Because most people haven't visited my site or maybe even checked whether the links they claim are broken actually are.

And also because they're on rarely visited pages on the website (lots of link pages were created for SEO purposes and are buried in the site structure) so it's a trade-off on time and effort.

So give me a really powerful reason why I should even fire up the page editor and change something.

Now...

If the email told me I was losing money because my affiliate link was broken, no longer earning me money and here's a link to an affiliate program I could swap it out to...

... you'd have much more chance of getting my attention!
