No.....but it has taken has knocked the living daylights out of the garden....everything is about 4 weeks behind and weather has been a little too cool.

Currently building a fairly massive portable greenhouse in readiness for the frost and freezing so as to extend the growing season so the garden can provide its bounty to the table and storage.

Hi Cornell,

Picked my first vine ripe tomatoes this evening.

As for the weather here...it seems to me as if one can feel fall in the air.

Wonder if those who have wood supply businesses are getting ready for more orders this winter or earlier than usual orders?

Hi Gold,

LindaC here.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for the post.

Here in my neck of the woods...the weather has had an effect on the grass. We have had a lot of rain thus the grass has to be mowed sooner than usual.

Therefore, those who cut grass are working longer hours and earning more money.

LindaC

It has been good. No lawn mowing, it all died. Been selling truck loads of pipe to repair lines that are breaking because of the drought and to water cattle and lawns. When disaster happens we prosper bigtime.

Hi thomasd,

Been reading about the drought throughout Texas and other parts of the country.

Sorry to learn your area is hard hit with drought conditions but, as someone once said...every cloud has a silver and in your case a gold lining.

My area is booming. They are building two power plants here. about 6000 new
workers will be here for 10 years. Many opportunities for the people who live here. they have built 6 new hotels here in the last year and are building more.
My rental properties will go thru the roof. So it is all good.
