Default Re: local biz directory ...what kind of help exactly?

Bob,

I'm experimenting with the local directory concept in a small county in Virginia.

Unlike you, I don't want to sell. but enjoy the behind-the-scenes work.

The script I'm using on this site allows for advertisers to post their own listings. I can set up packages ranging from free to any amount.

Take a look at http://www.infranklincounty.com/business_directory/ currently in a soft launch.

Johnsen,
Do you plan to charge for listings? How are you going to drive traffic to the site?
The script looks fine, but I'm just wondering how "user friendly" it is, not for the businesses posting, but for the local folks going online to find a plumber or a landscaper or whatever.
Best of luck with the project!
