Default Niches How important to making money?

There are many ways to find niches that are ripe for the taking. How do you find a niche to target?

There is amazon hot sellers, Google Trends, Most popular ezinearticle base, etc.

I use Ebay. I go to pulse.ebay.com and look under each category. The first listing is the top 10 items searched and bid on in each category. Since millions search and bid at Ebay each day it is a good indicator to what is "hot".

Then I look at the auctions for that item and sort by auction ending soonest. The closer the auction gets to ending the more bids. I look for items in that category that have many bids. I like to see 15 or more bids on the auctions ending in the next hour or two. That tells me if the item(s) are in demand by people that have credit cards. Not just searchers for free information.

To make sure these are hot items and are being bought I check the completed auctions to see what % of the auctions sold in the last two weeks. If 80% or more of the items listed sell then I know I have a hot market to target.

How about you? Do you have a favorite way to pick your niches?

Best of success,

Keep a look out for membership sites that rank well in the categories and have a decent Gravity ranking. You could create your own membership site in the same niche and bring home the cash! Best of all, since it's recurring billing, you can be paid automatically every month on autopilot.

Nice post Skip.

I like to find a problem which social media is great at uncovering. What is the buzz? What are people complaining about? Great companies and massive wealth has always been created by providing solutions for problems.

The internet is full of BS biz opps and it's a waste of time. But provide value and a solution to people's problems and you have found your target market and your gold mine.

Default PINK iPod Guy w/1.6 Million Feedback at EBAY Pulse

Hi Skip,

Thanks for the ebay pulse info.

Just for fun I went over and played around a bit.

The phrase that got more hits than any other on ebay is *iPod touch*

I clicked on a PINK iPod cover.

Found a guy with 1,656,777 positive feedback reports from buyers. http://myworld.ebay.com/everydaysource/

A Mega-Power seller.

In fact I found two - with over 1.5 million happy buyers.

pulse.ebay.com

You can learn ooodles from what these guys are selling.

So.

Thanks.

I notice he is selling all different colors of iPod covers. And since I sell information. That gives me an idea for a new product to sell to his iPod buyers.

NICHE marketing is a SLAM DUNK Cuz you are selling your similar stuff to buyers who already bought in that niche.

P.S. - My current "UGLY COPYWRITING WorkBook" auction is a result of an interview I did with a college friend of Steve Jobs - who keeps in touch and gave me some insights.

And New, Proven Copywriting Strategies is a HOT Niche too.

Hi Matt,

Thank you for your input. Your right about finding the problems and the solutions to those problems will lead to cash.

If you don't mind could you expand on exactly how your find the problems and the solutions? I would love to know the sites you use and the Criteria you use to pick a niche problem.

Best of success,

Hi Glenn,

Your welcome. I have found quite a few powersellers with pulse.ebay.com.

That guy with the pink ipod cover has well over 1,000 auctions running each and everyday.

Here is a quick tip for anyone that does NOT have their own niche information products.

Find power sellers on ebay and then do a look up on Google for the "niche" plus "PLR" or "private label rights". That way you have the market BEFORE you rewrite the product for sale.

I just love those niches.

Best of success,
