How much would your charge....
I've got a niche market that I've sold a few software products to.
I just developed an invoicing, estimating, payables, contact manager product. Something they have told me they wanted. Its a basic software solution that will allow a business owner to run their business. Nothing too fancy. Just geared towards their industry. NOW... there is tons of software out there for free that will do 80% of what they need. So my question is how much? $10,$20 or more? Its four modules that are geared towards their industry. I'm thinking in the $10 to $20 dollar range. I've put a lot of time and effort in to getting this thing up and going. Maybe I'm too cheap? Any thougths? |

Re: How much would your charge....
Actually, Pappy, it depends upon the niche and the demographics of the group. I'm thinking $34.95 might be about right.
You can always drop the price but it's tough sometimes to go higher if you start out too low. Sandi Bowman |

Re: How much would your charge....
When I first began selling "Information, Remotely" via the old-fashioned thing called "Mail Order"...I discovered I could only get X$ for my "Printed Manual".
Then I decided to ADD a "Floppy Disk" (Again, ancient times) and found I could get 1.5X$ The addition of another form of providing Information gave my "Packages" more VALUE. THEN...when I took my old Panasonic Video TAPE camera and made a 1 Hour Instructional Video....I found I could get 5X$! Starting at $99 (This was WAAY before it was discovered that "SEVEN" would improve sales)...for a Printed Manual....then $149 for the Printed Manual and a Floppy....THEN....I hit the BIG Time when I packaged the Printed Manual, Floppy AND a Video...I found $495 did not deter sales, in fact I was getting MORE conversions with this "Package". So...consider putting your stuff into, "Printed Form"...on a CD and a DVD or Video. NOTE: I bought a "Digital Voice Recorder" and simply recorded me talking about what the program was about. I put this on a CD and WHALA...just that extra item TRIPLED sales. With most of my Mail Order programs I wanted the sound of my Package to make a THUNDEROUS NOISE...when the UPS driver droped my package on my customers porch. Hope this gives you some ideas.
