Millard Grubb’s Radio Show & Dr. Paddi Lund - The Marketing Wizard of OZ!

On his radio show yesterday Millard Grubb spoke about how Doctor Paddi Lund in Australia took his dental practice from just over $40,000 a year to over $300,000 in just 10 months. Paddi did this not by advertising more or moving to a better location. In fact he pretty much did just the opposite. He closed his traditional dental clinic, pulled his yellow page ads and closed his business to walk ins.

Millard then explained how others have produced similar results and then pointed listeners to a simple system that… like Dr. Paddi Lund’s system… can be used to explode the profits of any small business!

Millard didn't have enough time on his show to share more of Paddi’s story but I just finished reading a book by Paddi today about how at one time he heard voices, saw visions, felt others could read his thoughts and were judging him as unfit to live in normal society. Paddi was suffering from obsessive and compulsive disorders. He felt persecuted and slipping into total madness.

Paddi talks in his book about how Dentists have a very high suicide rate. Many people say that as a group, they really hate Dentists and ranked them right up there with lawyers and used-car salesman. And on how it can be a very stressful occupation.

During his more lucid times, Paddi would write notes to his “Dark Self”. Just little practical hints that helped him to return from the dark pit of madness. Hints like “Don't think too deeply about what you are thinking about.” Because if you think about what you were thinking about and you were thinking about what you are thinking, you’ll soon find yourself falling into a black hole which is like a whirlpool where your thoughts go round and round and round. Or… simple hints like Count your Blessings - Not Your Troubles.

Those notes to himself helped him to recover his sanity. Paddi says he realized that with his notes to himself he had developed a system that helped his recovery and if he could come from madness to sanity with the help of a simple system, he wondered if he could develop systems that could increase both his profits and his happiness.

Paddi said… “ I discovered I had sacrificed happiness, to earn money… that bought less happiness than I had sacrificed.”

He worked hard to build his small service business, but he initially failed and was miserable.

His solution: Paddi made “happiness” the focus of his business and made systems so that critical areas of customer contact worked automatically. Paddi achieved his goal of happiness in business and earned greater profits in the process!

Paddi has written a number of books like “Building The Happiness-Centered Business” and reports including “ Mobilizing Your Customer Sales Force” How Paddi made an incredible referral system and thrived with“A” Class customers on-tap all the time with no advertising!
