Hi mrsray,

I've never handed out flyers in a private establishment (like a restaurant).

However, I do believe there is nothing to stop you from handing out flyers in a public place, at least in most places. (Of course, laws can differ from one place to another.)

I've tried selling things for a job I once did (in this case, I was selling discounted comedy tickets) on the street, with no legal problems (though, in my case, also without much success!). We just approached random people on the street...

I think there are probably two schools of thought on this type of thing.

One school of thought says - just do it, until someone tells you to stop!

The other school of thought is, ask permission first...

If you're planning to do it on a regular basis (and not just once only), then it's probably a good idea to cultivate good relations with the management...

Some eateries I've been to are happy to put your flyers or brochures near the counter for interested people to pick up...

Best wishes,

Dien
