Default Timing is everything...

at least in most cases.

On August 21st, Dien had a post about the eclipse. Up until about 1:00 pm my time

you could sell a pair of solar eclipse glasses for anywhere from $3 to $15 . After

3:00 pm, people were giving them away . For those who knew the event would spark a

lot of buying activity and prepared properly, they were able to cash-in. They also

knew that any left over inventory would be nearly worthless.

Someone who is enterprising could snatch up this inventory for pennies on the dollar.

Then, all they have to do is wait seven years for the next U.S. solar eclipse and

they could cash-in big time.

Why wait that long?

Gordon posted on September 2 about his preparations to market personalized Christmas

gifts. I don't know if anyone has noticed, but Christmas COMES EVERY YEAR!

So does Halloween, Thanksgiving, Easter, New Years, Valentine's Day, Independence Day,

Mother's Day, Father's Day and the list goes on...

Don't forget the seasons... Spring Cleaning, Summer Heat, Fall(ing leaves), Winterizing

Then there are the events that Gordon calls the parade of life... Births, Deaths,

Birthdays, Graduations, Weddings etc.

The point is, there are opportunities to have a reason for an offer. Today, furniture

stores are having a Labor Day Sale in the U.S.

Why? Because it is a reason to create an offer. They will do the same thing on

President's Day. There is no direct corelation between Labor Day and furniture, but it

must work because they've been doing it for years.

I say all that to say this... plan ahead. You don't have to plan 7 years in advance

to profit from an eclipse. You only have to plan a couple of months ahead. There are

Halloween Stores popping up all over my area. They'll be in business for two months

and then they'll be gone.

Look your own business and see if you can create an offer for your products or services

or maybe even create a product or service and time it to a holiday or other event or

even the changing seasons.

A pest control company will advertise more for animal (mice, raccoons rats etc) removal with

cold weather coming. In the Spring they will focus on insects and spiders.

In most cases... it's just a matter of timing.
