And keep you updated. First thing...TOLL POSITIONS...listened to an Intellectual Property attorney explain how royalties and residuals work for books, songs, and all things IP. Not new to me, but some areas I never gave thought to, and you can't believe how many chemical/formulas are available right now. He said because many of the BOOMERS, who own the patents, want to sell rather than pass it to family, whom may want the cash NOW.
My mind is spinning with ideas...oh, to be young and a tank full of time...
There is undoubtedly a gold-mine here...
But, you also have to set things up to exploit your toll positions.
Something I really MUST do better...
I know the HB model... Must implement it much better, though!
As a (part-time) band manager, I've been looking into music rights and royalties (as the band is planning to self-publish their album soon, with my help)... Man, is it complicated! Maybe I'll talk about that can of worms another time (as I'm still getting my head around it)...
But alas, maybe you youngins will get something from it. I'm concentrating on OLD guy offers, and may turn a new project into a part time income, iffin I ain't got to work (werk!?) too much that is.
One general idea emerging early this week, is...
Many, if not most, maybe ALL small businesses are eager to get back at it, to get to pre-Covid levels and beyond.
Which often as not translates into = MORE CUSTOMERS.
Or more per sale, or multiple sales or creative solutions.
I'm hearing some of the same old, same old, BUT, THERE are some great NEW ideas and concepts too.
I'll keep you posted.
Thanks Gordon for sharing, and I can't wait to hear of any updates...
PS Quick story. The attorney suggested several books, most of them by an attorney in the biz. Gregory Battersby. A good one to begin with would be:
Now the thing is, Battersby has several PATENTS on his Batters' training (I think he was born to create this, with his name and all)...
Also, time is NOW, to get your stuff together.
I hadn't heard of Battersby... I'll do my best to check out his stuff!
I remember reading an article once that people did have a tendency (more than chance) to go into a profession related to their name...
Did I tell you I'm also a rice farmer? (Heheh... Kidding there...!
