![]() Julie,
Wow, I never thought a mind-map could have pictures in it.... but it makes sense. :) I'd love to see one of your mindmaps some time, it sounds like a wonderful creative work of art too.... :) I think this is good for me too because I know I like to think in pictures.... Maybe that also ties in with what Gordon was saying, of the relationship between mindmaps and pictogrigms.... Thanks for sharing that great example.... :) > Another analogy that came to mind is that I > would rather map a detailed city district > than a map of the entire state of California > showing the freeway system (which it sounds > like your mapping has done in the past). Heheh, yes, that's a great analogy! I think you're right, that's precisely what I was doing.... and it didn't help very much. I'm grateful to you and also to Sandy for helping to explain how I could fix my approach.... :) > Taking the time to do some symbols helps me > to slow down some of the > continual-association-pathway as well. The > multiple associations can uncover some > interesting stuff, but keeping it focused > really helps to accomplish what you set out > to do in the first place. > Does this help? Yes, thanks Julie! I'm going to be drawing little pictures all over my mindmaps too.... that sounds like a lot of fun. :) Thanks :) Dien |
