> local Shakespear group, then start one, > you'll find plenty of people who will join > you . > **** Gordon-- Thanks for responding. I enjoy your thoughts immensely. As for the Shakespeare group, I have NO MONEY. I have no health insurance. I recently moved in with a relative. I work at a coffee shop because I have no car. Is it workable that I start a Shakespearean company right now? No, I don't believe so. This is what I would do WHEN I am making a living. (I'm not even making a living right now...and as Jim Straw likes to say, (paraphrasing here), "Before you set out to get rich, first set out to make a living".) > Write. DEDICATE 15 minutes a day to having > FUN, you deserve that much fun in a > day...and again, sharing that with others of > a similar interest would be good for you > too. **** Yes, this is doable. But my ADD keeps me from 15 minutes a day of anything. I'm more of a 3-days max out blitz kind of person, and then spend the next 3 days max out blitzing something else. > Reading, reading, and more reading. When I > go to a bookstore, I'm in heaven. > **** > READ MAN, READ! **** Well, of course I read...but if I spent too much time reading instead of chatteling, how am I going to be able to afford to have the time to read? > To make that consistently, you'll need to > be at about a 7500 dollar transaction > level...that is, you buy for 5 grand and > sell for 7500...and there is a glut of > chattel in that price range. I certainly hope so. Or even several smaller transactions "blitzed" together over a 4-week period...then a 4-week period of less intensity. You may have to > "climb the ladder" but if you > build Networks and search for DOLLARS not > things, you'll start to see how this can be > done ... > **** Again, I'm starting to believe this. The ladder is under construction. > Why NOT? What will it take to Make it > Happen? ***** I just want to know that it CAN be done. I'm starting to believe it can. I'm giving you and John McTighe the benefit of the doubt because you both seem to make a lot of sense. I find that WAY TOO OFTEN when I ask for proof, I get a flimsy turnaround that I have a "bad attitude" for asking. I'm an old-school Thomas Paine realist and skeptic. I read Michael Shermer and Carl Sagan. I ask questions. I look for scientific evidence of assertions...but I am also willing to TEST theories. (I'm also skeptical about skepticism!) But it's nice to hear someone say it can be done every once in a while. When I do it...and notice I say WHEN...I'm going to tell people who ask that "YES...it can be done...I DID it! Here's the proof!" (Of course, only if asked...remember "Fly low and collect the dough!") > Here is where I MUST kick you in the > ****...you are FREE. You are ALIVE. Loving > relationships cost you NOTHING...good > friends can't be bought... True. I'm not saying I don't have loving relationships right now, nor that I would wait until I'm doing well to have them. My point here is to have the TIME to enjoy them, not slaving at a desk 40-60 hours a week waiting for death. > Don't confuse FREEDOM with being able to buy > things. Never! It's just PAYING THE RENT and the bills, that's all. I don't want THINGS. I want TIME. Time to think. Time to write. Time for fun. > GREAT motivation. Only after work, hit the > gym or pool and "wash" the work > day off of you and then put that time to > use. **** Gordon, I'm sorry, but when you're working at a job 40 hours a week, plus 10 hours commuting time, doing work you hate, you begin to disrespect yourself...and you get tired...very tired. That's how I was. My mind is lucid only about 2 hours a day (and VERY lucid), but those 2 hours occur mostly during the day, usually when I'm working for someone else. Maybe I have health problems more than ADD, I don't know. See, you > have the same freedom to enjoy the great > artists as the richest men on earth... True. But here is my life right now: I go to Starbucks. I sling coffee all day, come home, get yelled at by my relative (okay...okay...it's my mother...it's embarrassing) for what a cockamamie "dreamer" I am ("Have you considered the post office? What about the phone company?") ("Everything you've tried has never worked!") ("Aren't you embarrassed to be as old as you are and not with a company?"). I attempt, as Emerson counseled, to retreat into my thoughts and goals like silent affirmations, and remain silent. You see, my living arrangements really rot right now...it's very hard to concentrate on ANYTHING but finding a way out. Which is why I'm putting chatteling at top-billing, number one priority in order to build the other goals. The step-by-step approach. Sorry. I'm venting. I'm glad this forum is a place I feel comfortable doing so. > What is the SECRET? I'll tell you. It ain't > a system, method or technique, or even > knowledge...it is GUIDED ACTIVITY What and > HOW you do it isn't important, there are > literally 1001 ways to make a fortune. . > **** I agree about guided activity. Constant forward motion built with Momentum. So what's my point here? That yes, I believe it's good to have all your goals in a form of Momentum, however small, but if your living arrangements are akin to a living hell, then some of those goals will suffer because your mind won't be able to focus on them with the intensity they deserve. Money. Without it, there is no freedom. It purchases freedom and a certain security (health insurance, etc.) Can't live without it. More later. Thanks for letting me vent and thanks for your kind words. John |
