Default Wife Threatens Divorce-Must Sell 200K Astin Martin

Hi,

Thanks for the great forum.

Your Opinion, please.

I'm sort of indifferent to cars. IF it has wheels, I'll drive it - is my attitude.

So I'm looking for some car buffs.

Lovers of Expensive cars to be exact.

Here's what it's about:

A client of mine has been asked by his Real estate investor BOSS to - "SELL MY ASTIN MARTIN."

So he calls me.

We brainstorm on the phone.

He wants to run ads in THE ROBB Report. Other hi-End spots.

He agrees to TEST the Ad - FREE of Charge - 1st.

So this DRAFT I - ad was created to DRIVE affluent prospects to a FREE WEbsite. (John will show the ad to) Rich guys he meets at detailing, custom shops, Up-scale parts stores, maybe an exclusive car wash.

Turns out
John has some rich
friends who spend
a lot of money. 1000's a mo - with GoGo Dancers at several Hi-End Men's clubs.

So he can get #1 Dancers at clubs to pose for photos next to the Astin Martin.

We figure these girls wouldn't mind F_R_E_E advertising among rich car owners, either.

Here's the ad - Whose ONLY goal is to drive guys to the website:

======================================
Wife Threatens Divorce-Must Sell New Astin Martin

My wife is Jealous of all the Hot Women
my Shiny Black Sex-Magnet-on-Wheels Attracts.
(I'm crying - Only 1 yr old - 2500 Miles.)

Go to SexMagnetOnWheels.com to see
4 Hot, 20 yr old Lap Dancers caressing the car.
GINA - (#1 Rated GoGo Dancer Club A) Blonde-Red Bikini - 36-26-36
Nicki - (Also #1 at Club B) Leggy Brunette - Yellow short shorts-Halter top-38-26-34
KAREN - (Tied for #1 Club C)- Cute Asian Girl - Blue Bikini-34--24-32
Kelly - (Rated #1 at Club D) Petite Redhead - Green Bikini - 37-26-36

Oh Yeah - I gotta sell this car or Lose 1/2 my net worth
in a Divorce. So you can get a Great price on an Astin
Martin. Details on the website. Thanks a lot - Frank
===================================

(We haven't created the website yet. Still on PHASE I - Testing.)

Question #1:

We're testing the above ad.

My guess is we may need to add some personal info about the girls. To get affluent car owners to CHOMP at the bit to get to the site.

What kinds of info should we include?

Question #2:

Should we Test - Small pics of each girl at the bttm of the ad? Then tell them to go to the site for the Full size photos?

Thanks,

Glenn

Default BULL...

You trying to sell a car? Then DO IT!

What's with all the Go-GO Strip Club crap?

If you've got a SERIOUS car, then SERIOUS people will want to know about it. It won't take topless dancers to sell it.

MPO.. You ain't sellin' Jack.. You're trying to sell your Ebay auction!

Glenn is selling the sizzle – not the steak.

Sure the car will sale without the hype but
people want to be entertained. They are not
really looking to buy just basic transportation.

They buy the feelings they imagine in their heads
when considering your offer. If you paint a picture
in their minds of how owning and driving this car
can make them feel you can get a higher price for it.

My wife and I just sold our 1976 Jaguar on its looks alone.

Only took one day to do it and we had people bidding against
each other for it. And we told everyone how many repairs the car
needs and how we bought a family Station Wagon because we
needed reliable transportation and more cargo space for delivering
the Gift Baskets we make for Realtors and Car Dealers and for hauling
our Photography gear and props around.

But we also told them how heads would turn whenever we drove the car
and how people would always approach us to talk about it and how it would
attract the attention of the opposite sex.

We got more for it than we were asking!

What’s wrong with Glenn promoting his ebay business?

Cheers,
Steve Shulenski

Steve,

I fully understand what you are saying.. BUT, and this is just from my view point.. If you had that much money tied up in a car, and you wanted to sell it, would you go through all these hoops, jumps and water hazards?

Kinda doubt that you, or anyone else would.

Having been involved in the purchase and sale of very high priced cars for several months now, I've yet to see anyone have to go to this extent to sell a car that's worth anything.

So.. my point is, Steve.. is this really someone seeking advise on how to use skin to sell a car, or a cleaver way to promote a book being sold on Ebay?

Default Looks like an opp for you Pete

The only way to know for sure is to contact the guy and then get the details if he is serious. If he is legit, your buyers list could be gold for you.

Take your several months experience being involved with buying and selling of high priced vehicles and get in touch with your exotic buyers list and see if any are interested in the vehicle offered buy the thread starter.

Worst thing that can come from it is that you find out the guy is full of it.
If that is the case, hang up the tele and move on.

Smile He's for REAL

Hi Jason,

Thanks.

Glenn has been a contributor to this forum for YEARS now...
I don't know WHY Pete's response was kept because it was CLEARLY a
SLAM against Glenn for NO REASON AT ALL!

In Fact, Pete seems to like SLAMMING OTHER PEOPLE for doing
things that Pete, himself, has done.
Go Figure...

Hopefully Dien will get the OLD posts back up so that You can do
a search for Glenn's posts over the years...
Glenn isn't only just entertaining, but Quite Helpful, as well.

I have to agree here with Christopher... Glenn has been posting here for years, and I've personally found a lot of value in many of his posts...

Actually, when you think about it, Pete's reply is useful... The reason why is because, if Pete thinks this way, then it means that SOME other people seeing the auction would think that way too... That's useful information to take into consideration.

Another reason is perhaps the approach Glenn has taken will turn some people "off" (like it has Pete) - and that's important to take into consideration too... (The question is whether it will "turn off" serious potential buyers...)

I just wanted to point out - even criticism can be useful...

Default Hi Dien - Didn't mean to stir Things up-Glenn

Dear Dien,

Thanks.

There have been some good ideas from forum members.

We sell houses with the same - "Hidden Benefit - Reason Why" strategy as our Aston Martin ad.

"Must Sell House - Need More Grass for Daughters Horse"

"Must Sell Yacht - My Husband Bought 2nd Yacht"

"Must Sell Home - 2 Mortgages are Killing Me" (These kinds of ads BEAT all the other realtor ads. We often get more than 50 leads from one Classified ad. In a local paper.)

THE TRUTH is rarely used in an ad.

It's STARTLING.

Unusual circumstances - created an ODD opportunity to create this ad. Thought some of your readers might enjoy it.

Glenn

Default Hey Steve - Remember Ted Nickolas' Hidden Benefit Concept?

Dear Steve,

Thanks.

I really admire your house sign biz. And the headline you used to get dozens and dozens of Dog Photo leads. Without paying a dime. What part of Australia did you move to?

Ted Nickolas talks about the "Hidden Benefit."

He taught us to ignore the surface stuff. DIG for the emotion that drives the prospect.

For the Aston Martin - we were thinking of James Bond and the Bond Girls. Q and his gadgets. If girls in bikini's created a billion dollar empire around the goofy Bond movies. We should be able to sell 5 or 10 Aston Martins.

HECK. Why would you SPEND 250,000 on a car? It would take 24 hr security to protect it. As soon as it leaves the lot it's a hunk of rusting metal. So we have to figure out the Hidden Emotional benefit of owning it.

Guys want to Show off to other guys.
Men want to show off to women.
Males want to attract females and brag and show off to other males.

That's the Sizzle.

I expect we'll have to tweak the basic concept. It should work fine to attract affluent car fanatics to the sales website, tho.

It's good to get YES and NO opinions.

The faster we make mistakes the quicker we get to the money. That's the rule for entrepreneurs.

Glenn
