![]() I just learned this but not sure what to do with it...You and I both know of or have use postcards in the snail world
I just saw and learn of e-cards. Has anyone seen or use them. 1. How do you use them. 2. What kind of results did you get. My guess and it is only a guess, you would use them in emails with text following the e-card. Thanks for any help. http;//www.Joetrevison.com |

![]() was promoting a new product a few years ago,
he sent me an e-card with a special invitation to visit a new web page about the new product. That is the only e-card that I remember receiving with a marketing slant. I have received several e-cards with Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, etc. over the years. Usually, a regular email is sent which includes a link to the web address of the e-card. With the increased usage of HTML email, perhaps the e-card would be worth a try. Personally, I still prefer text-only email. For some reason, most of the HTML email I receive turns into garbage when I open it. ![]() How would e-cards announcing your business be any different from spam unless you only sent them out to people you knew? Can someone please enlighten me? Thanks!

![]() he totally lost his mind! Marlon Sanders is a
great marketer and would never spam anyone. He's knows better. What he did was send the e-card to his existing customer list. I had purchased products from Marlon. I was on his ezine list. So I was not surprised to receive an email from Marlon. The surprise was the e-card format. It was different. It got your attention. I didn't mean to mislead you or cause any confusion. Sorry... My personal view on spam is this: If we have communicated before, you can email me. I would not consider it to be spam. If I ask you to stop, then you should discontinue sending email. For instance, if you emailed me as a result of this series of posts, I would have no problem with that. If someone else read the posts and emailed me concerning this topic, that would be OK, too. However, if someone skimmed through this forum collecting email addresses, and sent me an email as a result of that harvesting of email addresses, that would fit my definition of spam. I am a little more lenient than some when it comes to spam. For some people, if they don't INVITE your email, they will call it spam if you email them. They may not remember exchanging emails with you in the past. As far as they are concerned, you are an intruder on their piece of cyber real estate. People even forget when they opt-in to a list. They get mad when they get what they asked for! When you build your list, save records of opt-in requests. At least then you will have evidence to present to your ISP should you get a complaint from Sallie Sourpuss or Willie Whiner. I hope this helps, Sandi. BTW I never said that Marlon Sanders would spam...he has my highest regards...but since you didn't specify that it was from a list, I wondered how it was being done...that's all. I understand now. As for keeping hard copies of sign-ups, definitely...but, what some newbies who read the board may not know, is you should include a copy of the headers so you can prove where it came from. A signature on an email will not provide proof if it is needed. Thanks again. Sandi |
