Default I second this

I've used Pair.com for almost two years for
different websites and have been 100%
satisfied.

One Sunday my website was down and I sent
an urgent e-mail. I got an e-mail back that
told me how to fix it (it was my error to
being with) within 20 minutes.

When I was at Hostway, I once had a problem and
after three urgent e-mails over two days with
no replies, I gave up and moved to Pair.

Never enought dog-related sites!

Default Actually, Dave, I DON'T post on every thread...

I see. I really am selective about the posts I make.

And Yes, I do post on many different boards. But, just because I try to help people doesn't mean i don't have work to do.

I am currently bring 2 different websites up. One has just passed out of the beta phase and is about to be launched locally. The other we are still getting our shopping cart and affiliate program in gear, but the software and product line is set.

Simply because I can multi-task does NOT mean I have nothing better to do.

As for the past 3 weeks, I have had a LOT of extra time on my hands because my wife was in Louisiana with her sick mother. The contractural need to get these sites up and functional asap, unfortunately, took precedence over my visiting with my mother-in-law.

your mother-in-law is ill, and you don't even get to come to Louisiana and enjoy all the great food here.

Maybe you wife can have a Tur-duck-hen shipped home to you, with a side dish of dirty rice.

Eunice is 79, has had 4 heart attacks and 9 kids during her lifetime. She was married to Jack for over 50 years and would still be married, if he hadn't decided to proceed her into the ground.

Dorothy got home last night and is still recovering from the flight. I eat Cajun EVERY day (except when I can convince her I want to take her out to dinner).

AND, tomorrow she is cooking jambalaya for the church's International Food Fair this weekend.

Default The problem with pair...

(See original e-mail below)...

Hello,

While all of our servers run FreeBSD, and otherwise meet your requirements,
use of custom CGI scripts is limited to our Webmaster level accounts and
up.

For a complete comparison of all of our account levels, you may go to:

http://www.pair.com/pair/compare/

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to ask.

Sincerely,
Christopher Michael

Default Re: Your favorite low priced hosting company?

I have to admit I don't know what the "SE reverse DNS look up issue" is. But the host I am currently using is www.doteasy.com.

Default Steve is right

I figured what the heck, for one of my domains, gave them a shot, and so far so good.

I don't know why they charge so little, but it's almost comical that i get away paying so little for what I get. Another host is about $15, great service too, but somehow, this company does it for me.

Keep in mind, however, the support is more of a "FAQ is over there, go for it, have fun, bye" kind of thing.

But they have trouble tickets and what not. To me, if you are able to do things yourself (use php to make tables, ask for a cron job the right way) support isn't needed, really.

But for those that pay under $10 and want support, it can be tough. To me, however, all I care about is a place to test scripts and have GD/Gzip support with PHP :)

Adam ~

Haven't spoke in a while.

Depends on how many sites you want to run. And they recently changed the service so you only need the Advanced(?) account to run custom cgi. Here's the key. Each new site you put on your account only runs $1 more a month. So if you have 10 sites it's the account cost plus $10. Each account getting it's own I.P. etc.

Hope that helps a bit.

~ Dan
