![]() There's that old saying...
Give a man a fish, and you'll feed him for a day...That saying spells out exactly what we're trying to do here at Sowpub... There are thousands of pages here of free information - from people's ideas, their successes and failures, and simply advice that comes from business experience - on how to make money for yourself... So you can be self-supporting, and also to help you support your loved ones... If more people knew this information, I truly believe we would have less poverty, less "unemployment", and even more happier and healthier people... Of course, it's not always easy to get this information "out there." Even if you're giving a lot of it away for free! Does anyone have any ideas... How can we get this information "out there" more effectively, to help more people learn how they can support themselves (and not be dependent on handouts)...? How can we turn this into a kind of "revolution" - to help ourselves, help our country, and heck, even help the human race? Best wishes, Dien

Dien, I believe your motives and ideals are noble to say the least. Helping humanity always seems like the right thing to do. Jesus himself tried and look where we are. Oh well who am I to make comparisons, right? But, here goes. After reading thousands of posts on this forum here is what I believe to be the bottom line: People do what they want to do and NOT what they need to do. All you have to do is re-read some of your and Gordon's posts and I think you'll come to the same conclusion. Therefore, at least IMHO, you can lead them to water but you can't make them drink. Here is a real life example. I am the only insurance agent in my area who can give a person a free insurance policy. Yep, first year no premium accidental death policy. I thought this would be a no brainer and everyone who knew me would accept it. Was I surprised when 50% of them said no thank you. Imagine the insurance world giving away insurance with NO catch. Unheard of. So, I sat back and analyzed the why behind their no. One thought is it could be the reputation of the insurance world and, by extension, me. Everything they do has a catch so of course free insurance is merely an enticement into a trap. Maybe some of the readers/members feel that way about Sowpub. All your free info/ideas/programs are merely traps. Hence low participation. Maybe they think this stuff is too good to be true which is another way to say trap. I don't know. But I do know you guys have a great forum and while trying to reach the masses of asses is what everybody does maybe creating an air of exclusiveness to Sowpub might be the way to go. Then, probably, people will be begging to be members. Here's another example. I have another product that will give you an income for life and when you die your beneficiary gets the principal. Simple and straightforward, just put your money down. Unlike other products that eat your principal when you die, this one gives it to your bennie. Guess how many people don't believe that? Not trying to sell anyone any insurance. It happens to be my world at the moment so I use it as my example. Also, Gordon hasn't told me how to win the powerball ![]() ![]() ![]() Let me toss in a book that may help: It is by Harry Browne and is titled: How I Found Freedom in an Unfree World and can be downloaded at: http://metaphysicspirit.com/books/Ho...%20Wor ld.pdf Good luck in your endeavors. |

I'm happy sandalwood has clear examples to back this up. It still boils down to the first part of the famous Net Profit Generation System (NPGS)- PROSPECT The only people who can gain from the LOADS of useful information here are people who are READY! Like me for instance. When I stumbled on this forum early this year, I was about to start gnashing my teeth in regret as in "I wish I had found this 10 years ago." ..Until I thought about it deeply. 10 years I was much younger... and much more foolish. 10 years ago I wouldn't have given this forum a second look as I was too busy chasing the next shiny object. The only reason I am getting value from this forum today is because I am now READY for this. Everybody is at their own stage of development. To quote the immortal Jim Rohn: "Don't send your ducks to eagle school. Why? Because it won't work. Good people are found not changed. They can change themselves, but you can't change them. You want good people, you have to find them. If you want motivated people, you have to find them, not motivate them." Last edited by unpinkpanther : October 31, 2016 at 04:12 AM. Reason: Typos |

First, thank you for sharing this; I find it helpful. Now, maybe I'm finding it a bit hard to digest, but can anyone really expand his "imagination" without help? If all I've known is how to use a hammer, can I play a guitar without help from someone who knows how to play one? Another thing I get from this video is that our results more or less reflect our level of thinking. But... Since thinking isn't taught in schools, how do we learn how to think? And how do we know when to draw the line between thinking and over-thinking? Maybe I'm over-thinking this... |

Thanks for ASKing Dien, Just "Information" isn't enough. Directed Information would be better. For instance; Giving an idea of a service to provide someone else for a profit is good. Providing the means (How to sell your service) along with the idea of a service to provide, is better... Showing the way to find those to sell to along w/ the two just mentioned above, is the BEST... There must be TRILLIONS of "money making ideas" available online. The "ideas" are not enough. There needs to be methods to profit from these 'ideas' such as, door to door, email, telemarketing, etc... Even w/ the methods, there needs to be a source to profit from the method of selling. (Prospecting) So, basically, what I'm saying is, 1. You need the Idea, 2. the method to marketing the idea, and 3. the source to market to (prospects)... I would like to see more ideas on, for example, "How to make $100 p/ month" or "How to make $100 p/ day" [You get the idea] w/ ideas, marketing, and prospecting combined... Another thing that would be great would be to combine the above in an 'Ask [the Expert(s)] Anything" thread... Such as: Combining the "How to" idea w/ an individual's current skillset / abilities... Ex. My Programming / Web Development Skills / Content Writing / (etc.,) how to market, how to find those hungry for what I do... (just a sample for the idea... ) Or, for different 'Home Improvement" Niches, such as; * Pressure Washing, * painting (interior / exterior / etc... ) houses, * window washing, * landscaping / lawn care, * pool maintenance, * house cleaning, * auto-detailing (cleaning), * handyman services / home repair, * pet sitting, * dog waste removal / dog walking, * errand running / grocery shopping, * home (onsite) pc repair, etc., etc., etc... Just My input... Thanks! ![]() Christopher |

Thanks Christopher, Dien may have his own take on this, but mine is.. The forum, by it's own limitations doesn't really allow more in depth coverage, which is why we have over the years provided several other avenues to get the "details" of many ideas out there. Dien has published hundreds of detailed articles, including the 3 things you cited, in his HIDDEN BUSINESS newsletters and his books. Sure, there are all kinds of these idea things floating around, I used to get them all... but most of them lacked in the MARKETING how to, which is what Dien added to his newsletters. Where warranted, we have set up several sub forums and even private membership groups to give a place to exchange in depth information and how to type stuff. We've had blogs too. And, or course we've offered Specialty Reports as a way to get more in depth coverage too. My opinion, is ASK the questions you want answered, and as often as not some member of the forum has the real life experience to give a battlefield experienced response. You are right in noting, in most instances, there is a glossing over of the really important stuff, like HOW TO MARKET AND SELL. Our 17 year archive is loaded with answers. But we are always open to new ideas and concepts, thanks. Gordon |

![]() "Does anyone have any ideas... How can we get this information "out there" more effectively, to help more people learn how they can support themselves (and not be dependent on handouts)...?"
... Case studies! Want to get folks involved and invested in the forum? Show them that the ideas shared actually work. Throwing around ideas is one thing, putting them into action is another. Heck, you can even have a "idea to implement challenge" with forum members following a plan and tweaking it to success. |
