Question #2:

Should we Test - Small pics of each girl at the bttm of the ad? Then tell them to go to the site for the Full size photos?

Thanks,

Glenn

Thanks Glenn for writing such an entertaining ad.

Instead of giving details about the girls, give details about the situations and stories. How girls honk at him at signals. How he gets better service when people see the car. How he doesn't have to wait in lines. How girls go out of control - which makes the wife mad.

Add a full size photo of girls around the car on the ad itself. And add a caption to it. That photo can work as your 2nd headline - attracting peoples attention.

On the website - you can always add more photos with more girls in different places.

You know - you could also create a video - interview the wife - make it funny - and add it to youtube. Might become viral. That way, you might have to spend less on advertising.

Default Ankesh - Your ESP is still working-Glenn

Dear Ankesh,

Thanks for the statistics.

Your ESP is dead on.

My clients boss wants TOO MUCH for his car. We took a look at the 225 Aston Martin auctions on Ebay.

Only one - a 2006 model is in the 150K ball-park. And NONE of the 225 photos has a pretty girl fondling a fender.

Early days yet.

But since my client has access to Pretty girls. We figured we should use them to create some Extra HEAT.

Glenn

P.S. - As You know...One step offers don't work much. ALL this ad is meant to do is get guys to GO to the website. THEN our sales letter has to take over.

P.P.S. - No offense - But opinions from car fanatics are what we are looking for. Others are not in the target market for the ad.

Some letters had a picture of an attractive lady on it. Some didn't. The letters that did have the picture got as high a response rate as the letters that charged 4% lesser interest rate for borrowing money.

For eg: a letter that promised 4% interest rate might get 2% response rate.
A letter that promised 8% interest rate might get a 1% response rate.
But a letter that promised 8% interest rate and which had a picture of a woman would get 2 % response rate too.

Worked for banks. Might work for selling cars too.

Default Hey Steve - Remember Ted Nickolas' Hidden Benefit Concept?

Dear Steve,

Thanks.

I really admire your house sign biz. And the headline you used to get dozens and dozens of Dog Photo leads. Without paying a dime. What part of Australia did you move to?

Ted Nickolas talks about the "Hidden Benefit."

He taught us to ignore the surface stuff. DIG for the emotion that drives the prospect.

For the Aston Martin - we were thinking of James Bond and the Bond Girls. Q and his gadgets. If girls in bikini's created a billion dollar empire around the goofy Bond movies. We should be able to sell 5 or 10 Aston Martins.

HECK. Why would you SPEND 250,000 on a car? It would take 24 hr security to protect it. As soon as it leaves the lot it's a hunk of rusting metal. So we have to figure out the Hidden Emotional benefit of owning it.

Guys want to Show off to other guys.
Men want to show off to women.
Males want to attract females and brag and show off to other males.

That's the Sizzle.

I expect we'll have to tweak the basic concept. It should work fine to attract affluent car fanatics to the sales website, tho.

It's good to get YES and NO opinions.

The faster we make mistakes the quicker we get to the money. That's the rule for entrepreneurs.

They buy the feelings they imagine in their heads
when considering your offer. If you paint a picture
in their minds of how owning and driving this car
can make them feel you can get a higher price for it.

My wife and I just sold our 1976 Jaguar on its looks alone.

Only took one day to do it and we had people bidding against
each other for it. And we told everyone how many repairs the car
needs and how we bought a family Station Wagon because we
needed reliable transportation and more cargo space for delivering
the Gift Baskets we make for Realtors and Car Dealers and for hauling
our Photography gear and props around.

But we also told them how heads would turn whenever we drove the car
and how people would always approach us to talk about it and how it would
attract the attention of the opposite sex.

We got more for it than we were asking!

What’s wrong with Glenn promoting his ebay business?

Default Thanks Ankesh - Some Good ideas-Glenn

Dear Ankesh,

Thank you.

The ad was fun to write. We had to explain why he's selling it so fast. Why such low mileage.

We plan to take photos of the girls next to the car.

Ask them Open ended questions to elicit great answers: "What kind of jewlery would you wear to ride in an Aston Martin?" IF this car were yours, what would you do? Where would you go 1st?

Write down what the dancers do and say and ask about the car. All fodder to go into the Ad and the sales letter.

We recognize - that for affluent men.

We'll need pics, back ground on the girls. Info that makes them special, unique...

Curiosity arousing copy to go with the photos.

Thanks,
Glenn

P.S. - As you know, RICH people are bored. The want what they cannot buy. IF we make them EARN their way. Jump thru hoops to meet the girls.
We may get a few interested in the car too.

We're only marketing to rich car nuts. The only opinion that truly counts is the wallet vote.

Default Hi Dien - Didn't mean to stir Things up-Glenn

Dear Dien,

Thanks.

There have been some good ideas from forum members.

We sell houses with the same - "Hidden Benefit - Reason Why" strategy as our Aston Martin ad.

"Must Sell House - Need More Grass for Daughters Horse"

"Must Sell Yacht - My Husband Bought 2nd Yacht"

"Must Sell Home - 2 Mortgages are Killing Me" (These kinds of ads BEAT all the other realtor ads. We often get more than 50 leads from one Classified ad. In a local paper.)

THE TRUTH is rarely used in an ad.

It's STARTLING.

Unusual circumstances - created an ODD opportunity to create this ad. Thought some of your readers might enjoy it.

Glenn

Actually, when you think about it, Pete's reply is useful... The reason why is because, if Pete thinks this way, then it means that SOME other people seeing the auction would think that way too... That's useful information to take into consideration.

Another reason is perhaps the approach Glenn has taken will turn some people "off" (like it has Pete) - and that's important to take into consideration too... (The question is whether it will "turn off" serious potential buyers...)

I just wanted to point out - even criticism can be useful...

Default Sell the Foxes

Pete,

Thanks for expressing your thoughts.

As Gary Halbert said, "sell the Foxes, forget about the dogs".

In other words, what YOU or I or anyone here thinks of the ad means jack. WE aren't the market for the ad. Our Opinions mean diddly. The opinions of people who Want an Astin Martin - or - a Chick Magnet car is all that matters. And I'm pretty sure, they won't think the ad is Stoopid.

Michael Ross

P.S. Let me add... there's more than one way to skin a cat. Everything is worth giving a go.

P.P.S. The flip side is, Glenn KNows all this. And so, in That regard, I agree - our comments aren't Why the post was placed, but getting the auction link in was. BUT - so what? See Glenn's ad, visit the auction, and learn some stuff.

Hi Glenn, I moved to the Coral Coast area of Australia’s Southern most tip of the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland.
It’s about a five hour drive north of Brisbane along the east coast.

I helped Guide Dogs for the blind here raise money to train more Seeing Eye Guide Dogs with my pet photography but I don't photograph pets in volume anymore like I use to because of discovering a better way to skin a cat!

Remember when ebay banned your “Naked Photographer” headline?

I’ve been the only male at several “Hen’s Night Out Portrait Parties” lately but the wife doesn’t want to let me do those anymore. Mostly because we can make more in less time with less stress by staying home and doing a single one hour photo shoot. There is a woman who calls herself Shuttermom who is selling a Portrait Party Operations Manual on her website for $995 and people are excited because some have made $1,000 doing a portrait party. No thank you. My wife and I have developed a better way to capture good looks on film and earn more money with less work. But that doesn’t stop us from looking for even better ways. We decided to combine our talents together and we came up with "Antique Style Glamour Photography” (Check out our ebay store). Below is our most recent failure. This ad came out a week ago in a local coupon book. It cost us $369 and it was delivered to over 24,000 homes in our area.

So far we have only gotten 3 bookings from it and I think it’s only attracting the freebie seekers.
One buyer out of the 3 will more than pay for the ad but so far I consider this ad to be a complete waste of our time and dollars. But it pays to keep on testing.

Today using my Marketing System for Pet Photography tweaked up a bit and applied to our Antique Style Glamour Portraits I was able to book 7 sessions in less than 2 hours. Way more effective than the $369 ad and it didn’t cost us a dime in advertising.

Most of the other offers in the booklet our ad is in only offer a 5 – 10% off discount on purchases so we thought this ad would work well but so far it’s not working for us. Thank God for my no cost lead generator. That one single marketing tactic is responsible for 80% of our results! The rest of our business comes from referrals. Less than 1% comes from all the print media ads we have used combined.

My wife and I are spoiled now because instead of travelling to set up our equipment at different locations each day and handling a bunch of yapping mutts for 8 – 12 hours a day we get to stay home and do 2 or 3 one hour Antique Style Photo Shoots in the comfort of our own living room.

Not only is it more relaxed, fun and easier to shoot photos this way but it’s also more profitable than doing pets. I still brag in my ebay pet photo auction about how I made a little over $5200 on a weekend pet photography shoot but that was shooting non stop from 9am – 10 pm for two days. High profits but also high stress. Now my wife and I have discovered a better, more glamorous way.

I’m still searching for a lower cost more effective way to flood a photo studio with clients and for over a year have been offering a $5,000 Cash Reward to anyone who can show us how but so far nothing else comes close to my Automatic Photo Lead System!

If anyone on SOW has any ideas of how to make a print ad for photography work I’d appreciate hearing from you. There may be a $5,000 reward in it for you.

Cheers,

Steve Shulenski

Default Thank You For Sending us $5000-Glenn

Dear Steve,

Thanks.

You may be able to Reward me with the 5K and boost your income by a large #age.

(Do you still use the Headline Box at Retail Shops to generate Photo Leads Method? It sounds like you do. IF so, you will LOVE this.)

#1 - Is a strategy I got from a 3 billion man - I met at a Jay Abraham event.

(IT allows you to TARGET a Higher Margin Location for prospects. Put another way. It's a no cost way of matching the income level of your prospects to the Location of your Photo LEADS box.)

#2 - A USA entrepreneur has figured out a method to borrow clients from branch offices of billion dollar companies. --Like putting a coffee store inside a Wal/mart-- to take advantage of the people traffic.

(It's amazingly profitable. AND FREE.)

=========================

A good friend has developed a Charity Marketing method. Which you might like. Since he makes 100K each time with it. It gets you Free PR in newspapers, radio, TV. PLUS the Charity you pick MAILS your offer to all it's tens of thousands of members. No charge.

=========================

Or We might use a Christmas offer a friend uses at his Health Club. He grows his customer list by 50% with ONE Xmas mailing. This offer works over the phone, in the mail, by email.

=========================

Another man sells 800,000 software. By-Referral-Only - Would work great with your current and past Antique photo clients.

Thanks,

Glenn

P.S. - Make out the check now. The 5K is mine.
Thanks for the offer.

Default Thanks-How We're KICKING Things Up a Notch-Glenn

Dear Michael,

Thanks.

Good point about the Testing of the ad. ONLY affluent car fanatics are in our test group. (We did get some ideas here, tho.)

For the affluent - we'll have to turn it up a notch:

Offer A Personality Profile of Each Girl - INSTANT Handwriting Analysis

An Aston Martin Hypno Mind Map - for each Dancer

A GoGo Dancer Relationship Mind Map

(Use the Cliffhanger Curiosity approach to drive them to the website)

My client has already visited an UP-Scale club.

Says he has contacts at some modelling studios. Starving actresses. Should be interesting.

He asked, "How do I take photos of the GoGo girls when they only work at night?"

We've worked with several brilliant dancer consulting clients. Many of these young women support all their brothers and sisters. They are SERIOUS about it.

So we know...

A - Day - time - They go to the Tanning Salon

B - Day time - They visit The Gym

Day time. Girls not doing anything buy sweating and rubbing on tanning oil. Perfect time to take pics in front of the Aston Martin.

Glenn

It's a change from writing ads for other clients.
