Default Emotional triggers

Hi Gordon,

You wrote in this week's seedzine: "Words and triggers. Got any good ones? I'd appreciate it if you'd share at the Friday Follow-up at www.sowpub.com forum."

For me the two biggest NEGATIVE triggers are:

1. Hearing any health care professional say, "OK, this will sting a bit."

(NOTHING just stings a bit. But the seasoned health care professional knows you won't stick around if he says, "Hey, wanna know what it feels like to get shot?" or, "Try not to wet yourself when I do this.")

And just as scary ...

2. When ANYBODY says: 'Sign here'.

Great issue of Seedzine Gordon.

Wish I'd re-read it before I got up this morning. Wife woke me with "You did a terrible job doing the lawn last night." Not even a "good morning".

Of course, the fact that I did the lawn in the darkening gloom last night could have had something to do with it (and I *knew* that) but instead of responding with sweet words, I got ticked. That started the "word ball" rolling. They got harder & meaner... and it finally led to one of those stupid arguments that you sometimes get into where you really don't even know why you are arguing except that both of you are mad.

Words, words, words. Gotta love 'em. And gotta forgive them too. (Which we finally did : ) But they are an incredibly powerful tool, however they are used.
