![]() > Thanks John for your advice. Researching
> those words opened my eyes to the fact that > only God's opinion matters. > But asking Jesus Christ to forgive me and by > accepting the fact that he alone is the way > will! > And for that I thank Jesus! As a fellow believer and follower of Jesus Christ, I say a hearty "Amen!". I have done some reading on shadow governments and conspiracies and the like myself. While I have come to believe that there are some 'interesting' and scary things going on behind the scenes both domestically & internationally (and I agree with some of what John was saying or implying), one also needs to realize 1) some things ARE coincidental and not necessarily the result of a master plan; 2) it is reasonable to expect that people with similar beliefs, interests, or responsibilities will end up on or belong to same/similar organizations, committees, etc.; and 3) be careful not to become so paranoid that you see conspiracies behind every door, spies around every corner, and you start to distrust everyone & everything. In recent months I have also developed quite an interest in Bible prophecy and various eschatological issues. (In fact, I've considered putting up a website on the subject but just don't have the time these days.) My thoughts here are similar to what I said above. While I do take the Bible literally and believe that there are some scary times ahead (whether the events described in Revelation come in our lifetime, no one can say for sure), I also don't think it behooves anyone to become preoccupied with such things or caught up in the "doomsday hysteria". Whereas Scripture commands us to be watchful & alert, the main intent of these prophecies was to comfort and assure the faithful of God's provision for them at the end of human history, when evil is finally conquered. So, the important thing is to trust in God, follow Jesus, live our lives for Him and be prepared for whatever comes. Whew! Well, that was a little more than I intended to say, but I meant every word. If anyone has questions or wants to discuss it more, please don't hesitate to email me. Chris |
