Default Here is one.

Hi Jen,

SiteHost4U.com, owned by AMS Computer Services offers a Individual Reseller Plan and Bulk Reseller Plans. I know for a fact that they are very reliable. Several top name marketers are hosted there, and I've never had a complaint that wasn't quickly resolved to the clients satisfaction. My high recommendation of them comes from 5+ years experience of working with them ever since they bought the hosting service from James Rogers.

Any time I need a technical response from them, I will hear back from them within the hour. Weekends are a little slower because they don't have a full staff on, but they do have someone there to respond to customers 24/7.

I can't comment on their reseller plans or anyone else's because I don't re-sell hosting accounts. I place clients on their own accounts. But if they look after their re-sellers like they look after my clients and me, you can't go wrong.

Best Regards,
Steve MacLellan

Default Disagree to some extent

Hi Steve,

Our primary business site has been hosted by SiteHost4U since '99. Their site hosting is good--otherwise obviously we wouldn't still be there.

But we haven't found them to be anything special either. We've had various problems over the years, especially with mail, and the support responses--while usually reasonably quick--leave a lot to be desired.

Typical would be "we don't support that" or "there's no problem on our end". At this stage we don't bother contacting support for glitches, as we feel it would be a waste of time.

Site uptime is generally good though, apart from one or two spells of dodgy months.

We'll move whenever we can find a reliable site & email host with decent customer support.

Mike.

Hi Mike,

I understand. Since AMS Computer Services bought the business from James Rogers, I have probably (I say probably because I've lost track of the actual number) worked on over 100 websites belonging to clients, plus I have two websites hosted there.

My clients and I have never had any issues that were not resolved quickly.

While I can't explain any troubles you had with them, they have given my clients and me nothing less then 110%, or else I would not have recommend them to you. I'm not a re-seller of their services so I don't make anything by referring them.

One gentleman I work with who also has a website hosted by sitehost4u, decided he wanted a little more for his money. He decided to go with ecphosting.net. He says support has been fantastic. Thought I would pass this on to you. I trust his judgement, but I don't have any personal experience working on these sites or with the hosting support team. I couldn't recommend them, but they might be worth checking out.

Best Regards,
Steve MacLellan

Default Good to hear :)

Hi Steve,

Your experience is good to hear, and certainly outranks mine by far :) Maybe you get better treatment since you bring so much business with you?

Thanks very much for the ECP link. I hadn't heard of them before, and they look quite interesting. I posted some Qs in their forum.

I can also personally recommend a similar host I've been with for a year, Voxtreme [link below]. One caveat though - they won't allow anything except tiny mailing lists, which is a deal-breaker for me. Otherwise they're very good.

Mike.

Default It could be...

I've wondered that... but then I don't really have too much information to be able to say for sure one way or the other. There have been a couple of people who signed up for their service based on my recommendation and emailed me to tell me they were really happy with them. I've also had one person email me to tell me they weren't happy with them.

Any concerns clients have, who I placed on the sitehost4u servers, usually go through me and I deal with the support team. It is possible we get great service because I represent a substantial amount of business to them. Since I place clients on their own sites rather then re-selling sitehost4u hosting packages, I have nothing to gain by trying to keep clients locked into a service that isn't 100%. So... the support team and I have a very good working relationship, and they know I'm not obligated to them in any way to keep putting clients there. If they're anything less then 100%, I would be looking someplace else.

So you've raised a valid point — one that I don't have an answer for.

Best Regards,
Steve MacLellan
