Don,

Outstanding strategy. New guy in town not getting business from motel/hotel clientel. So you help him get his feet wet, with your 90 day trial offer.

Program works so well, that he is sending you to others to introduce your program to them. I bet now you could easily incorporate a pizza program similiar to what Jason mentions above.

That way your new client could track which pizza's sell more. As time goes by you could find tune the program so that only his best sellers are listed on your motel card. That way he is eliminating the foods that are dead sellers from his advertising.

BTW Jason, before Don could do as you suggested, which is a great idea, he first had to woo the client to try something he had never done before. It allowed Don's program to run it's course, which proved to be quite a success.

Now that Don's program has proven itself to the new business owner, he will call on Don more often. As James said in an earlier post, it's about building relationships. Don has once again succeeded in doing this.

Take a step back and look at the situation for a moment........
Do you think that there is a pizza joint in town that would not LOVE to be listed in every hotel room in there delivery area?

By stating this I am suggesting that it is not the pizza dude that needs the wooing.

It is the hotel that needs to o.k. this program.

Try it for yourself, I bet you can talk to 10 pizza joints and at least 9 of the 10 will tell you "Heck yeah!"

No fancy talk, just simply ask them " Hey, would you like your phone number, logo, and photo of your pizza listed in 100 hotel rooms in your delivery area?"

What do you think that they will say to that simple question Woody?

Similar question to the hotel and what do you think that they will say?

I know that this can work, however it isn't by going to the the hotel and pushing your way in and assuming the sale as their hands are often tied by other contracts or restrictions imposed by the franchise.

Instead of bashing Dons ideas, like I am accused of doing,
lets make this a positive thing and collectively contribute and see how to improve on what he brings and make a real market for them!
What do ya say?

Jason

Default jason....good ideas ...and

Having contacted several of the nationa chains...like the MOTel 6 Don has on his display ...I have found that the lobby is full of advertising...and the motel owners are not very interested in additional 'stuff' to maintain...

thinking that , like you , the market is there for the rest. owners..and it is the motels that need the wooing..

one guy told me that the company who maintained the display for the brochures pays HIM every year...for the space...

me too on the additional inputs...

thanks
bob
