I forgot to mention that, apart from "melting down" copper pennies, you may just have to wait for the penny to be "revalued" to be the same value as a nickel (as the article mentions could happen)... Then just "cash in" your pennies!

I don't know if anyone would amass thousands (or tens of thousands) of dollars in pennies to take advantage of this... But it's a fascinating thought anyway...
