Default Tag You're It

Apparently when someone is tagged they are compelled to reveal things about them that nobody knows about.

I saw this Tag Post and immediately loved this idea.

So in a sense I was tagged too!

So here's...5 Things About Me You Didn't Know

I was once an International Bowling Champion

I have a very close relative who is in the Rock n' Roll Hall Of Fame

As a child I was next door neighbor and family friend to the Host of a number one rated 70's TV Show

I once played the longest tennis match in the history of Boston, Mass (I won!)

I won a student council election with this silly slogan..
Vote for Gibby Cus' He' Not Gabby

Ankesh, Phil, & Dien....You're Tagged!

Hi Garth,

Thanks, what a great concept!

Okay... hmm... 5 things about me you didn't know, huh? Hmmm.... Well...

In my travels, I've been to 6 continents (North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia)... The only continent missing from the list is Antarctica!

During my teenage years, I played competitive tennis (not so great at it) and swimming (I swam for my school - I was pretty good at it, but I found swimming laps to be boring!)

I have a cousin who used to work at the White House.

Some may know this already... I hold dual citizenship (USA/Australia).

I haven't read a fiction book since my 20s (I'm now 37)... unless you count "Rich Dad Poor Dad" (HA!)

(I've read lots of non-fiction though!)

Gordon, Jason Cain, Sandi, and in fact anyone else - care to share too?

Cheers,

Dien

Talking Re: Tag You're It

Ouch, Dien...guess I'm it, huh? Okay, I'll play...

I was a runway type fashion model as a child.

I taught American History and other subjects in Sweden

My most embarrassing moment was when I was 12 years old and my swimsuit strap gave way and exposed me to the waist to my male instructor and a gallery of poolside observers.

I'm an inventor of lots of items and processes.

I used to shoot pool left or right handed (haven't played in years).

Okay, Pete, James Anthony, and Kelly...your turn.

Whew.. This could be a real bummer... Let's see.

As a junior in high school, I wrote a script for The Twilight Zone for a class project. Teacher knew someone. Said script was "lost" while he was in NY. Show aired about a year later with is name on it.

Once beat out 5 college grads for a "desk job" that HR said I wasn't qualified for. Only one that passed the tests they gave. (School of hard knocks pays off!)

Cut records in the early '60's for "kicks". Sold 1000 copies to my radio listeners!

Only news photographer given permission to follow recovery efforts of a SAC bomber crash in Lake MI. Spent 4 hours in cabin under armed guard when cameras located wreckage.

Covering So. Governor's Conf. in Ky, had then Pres. Nixon walk up to where I was standing. He told the guy in front of me to step aside and let me get my photographs. The "guy" was Dan Rather.

Next.. Gordon?

Pete

5 things that nobody here knows about me....

I was an Army Paratrooper with 21 (non-combat) jumps.

I was bungee-jumping out of hot air balloons in the late eighties before anyone had ever heard of the sport.

The longest I’ve ever been able to hold a “job” was for 3 years with the Boeing Company, building the B2 Bomber.

I’ve applied for The Apprentice twice and Survivor three times (as well as a few others).

As hard as I’ve tried, I’ve never been banned from a forum.

I'm tagging Jason and Mark - HA!

Default Tag You're It..Tribute To Gary Halbert

Here's another thing you didn't know about me

Gary Halbert once told me personally that an idea I brought to him was worth a million dollars.

Of course I never did anything with it so I guess I'm one
of those Little Sh**T Weasels he always talked about.

In fond memory the Little Sh**T Weasel from South Beach.

Yikes! I almost didn't read this whole thread...didn't realize I'd been called out!

Okay ...like others I like to keep a low-profile ..so I'll reveal some odd facts...

1. I survived a horrific motorcyle accident when i was 21 (just last year - right? LOL - RIGHT!)
2. My Dad X-Ray'ed President Reagan when he was shot by Hinckley
3. I tried out for Survivor, Amazing Race and The (much forgotten) Mole
4. I'm good friends with someone who knows the identity of the "mysterious stranger" who visits Edgar Allan Poe's grave every year and leaves the bottle of Cognac and Roses (he actually was going to reveal who he was to me - but I said I didn't want to know).
5. I was part of a project pitched to the main creator of MTV, who I met a few times during the course said pitch.

That's it for me ... has anyone tagged Gordon J. A. yet?

Hmmm... Can I "tag" 3 more people? What's the rule of this game anyway?

I would love to hear from Duane Adolph (a guy I've learned a lot from, actually!), Michael Ross (another guy I've learned a lot from), Michael Winicki (hopefully he sees this), and Erik Lukas (if he's still reading at the moment - though I know he's pretty busy with his current project)...

Uh, make that 4 people!

It's pretty amazing what fascinating facts you learn doing this... We're all pretty unique and amazing individuals, it seems...
