Default Global Warming. Is it Anthropogenic?

A lot of us seem to believe that human activity is a major cause of global warming. Most rely on the supposed findings of the UN's IPCC group which, as reported by the press, believe that human activity is a major cause.

But one of the scientists who was a member of the group vehemently disagrees. Please read his testimony before England's House of Lords.

Does anyone have any proof that global warming is anthropogenic? Al Gore's documentary has all the signs of being snake oil and is totally lacking in scientific analysis. The British film "The Great Global Warming Swindle", does a reasonable job answering Gore's protestations. But there are many other internet sources which do a better job.

What do you think?

Default You are right, Phil

Definitely beyond the capability of most people to understand and so complex that the "experts" are incapable of understanding it as yet.

As you say, however, it is very profitable, definitely an arena with a very large amount of money sloshing around. Billions, not millions, of dollars are being poured down this tube with plenty of hands willing to grab some of it.

Bob,

Some of the big money comes from the federal government, mostly in the form of grants to people studying AGW, about $2B.

Richard Branson has pledged Billions, profits from his Virgin Atlantic and other companies. Arthur, the governator of the state of California, is getting legislation passed to provide several billion. There are others so submit your proposals and get in line.

Bensimo,

Thanks for brining this topic up Again.

Definitely beyond the capability of most people to understand and so complex that the "experts" are incapable of understanding it as yet.

If you Buy this line - too complex to understand - you are giving up your individual power to those who will provide Pseudo Answers to you - Gore et al.

It's actually SIMPLE to understand. And, in a court of law, there is so much Evidence Against Man Made Gobal Warming, it wouldn't even make it to a trial. Reasonable doubt a certainty.

Let me give a bit of a run down...

Nitrogen is the most abundant gas in the atmosphere - around 78%. This is not deemed a temperature increasing thing.

Oxygen is next at around 20%. Again, we cannot blame oxygen otherwise people would laugh in your face.

Of the other gases, Carbon Dioxide is man made - and comes from nature. At maybe 0.6% Sometimes 0.3%. There's often more Water Vapour in the air than CO2.

Quick Lesson in CO2. It is released from Warm Water and goes back into solution in cold weather. Enters the atmosphere in the warm oceans - equator and tropics for example. And goes back into the water at the poles.

Conclusion: The warmer the water the more CO2 is in the air.

Now ask yourself... is it more likely that global temperature would change thanks to 70% of the planet (the oceans) getting warmer - or - due a gas which ranges from 0.3% to 0.6% in the air and which is absorbed and released by the ocean as needed?

Assuming you installed and booted up your brain this morning and loaded your Capable of Individual Thought software, I am pretty sure you will understand the absurdity to even think for a nano-second that a gas in so minute amount would effect global temperatures while the largest temperature regulating system on the planet has zero effect.

Leaving just ONE question to anwser... WHY would the oceans be getting warmer?

Possible answers with scientific ability to check...

1: From within the earth. Remember, we are just all floating on a thin crust on top of a whole heap of molten stuff.

2: From offworld - the Sun. With Mars and some other solar system bodies showing Increased Temperatures, the SUN has to be a Prime Consideration. More intense radiation - like a microwave heating your hot chocolate.

3. Earth Axis shift. It happens. When it does the surface and deep ocean currents flow changes. Quite possibly spending more time in warmer zones. Leading to an overall warming.

4. Continent Shift. As the land masses move the water needs to flow differently. More water could be forced to flow into warmer areas for longer periods. Leading to a gradual overall warming.

These four alone could give increased ocean temperatures which would lead to more CO2 in the air and increased temperatures over time. And they all make more sense than accepting a miniscule amount of gas which enters and leaves the worlds oceans depending on the temperature of the water, is causing temperature change.

IF the world is gradually warming, any CO2 increase is a RESULT of that change and NOT a cause.

There. Now you know more than all the so-called Global Warming Is Man Made experts. And, it's NOT Complex.

Default Thanks, Michael, for providing a simple answer.

But the issue remains complex in my humble opinion since few people understand how water retains CO2, what saturation levels are and what happens as temperature increases or decreases. In addition, they don't understand the relative contributions of CO2 by people and oceans and such other sources as beef cattle.

But many thanks for presenting the case against anthropogenic global warming, much ado about nothing. It is just another of many hoaxes foisted on us by those seeking money and power over us.

Default How CO2 enters and leaves the oceans...

Ben,

Thanks for your additional questions.

Actually MANY people know how CO2 enters and leaves water. It's the same way Oxygen enters and leaves water. Ask ANY owner of a fish tank why they have a Bubbler/airator/water-jets in their tank? It's so the Oxygen can enter the water and the CO2 leave when the Water Surface is broken.

In the ocean that is due to Wave Action, and rain drops to a less degree. Boats carving through the water, whales and dolphins breaking the surface to an even lesser degree. And so on and so forth. ANY time the water surface is broken, gas exchange happens. You cannot count on whales and dolphines obviously, but you can count on Waves.

As for amounts in the water. If there is too much in the water and it is not released into the air, it solidifies. In a similar but slightly more complex way Any substance will stop being absorbed by water.

E.g. Put some salt in a glass of water and stir until it is all dissolved. Put some more in and stir until it again is disolved. Repeat. At some point you will reach a level where no more salt can be absorbed by the water and the salt crystals sink to the bottom. If the water level drops due to evaporation more salt will soldify on the bottom.

You probably did a similar experiment at school using Cobolt blue crystals or something similar

Again, Ben, it is NOT complex. The Methods are Widely known. It is all just ignored because it does Not fit the Agenda of the Man Made Gobal Warming Mongers who use the Global Warming Hobgoblin to garner more control - they know it's all bunk which is why they urge Immediate Action, because without it the Public might wake up to the Truth. (I have a PDF copy of a 1975 newpaper article that was about how we were all doomed due to Global Cooling. If Anyone is interested I'll upload it and give a link. Let me know.)

If you want to read more about it yourself and the more detailed info on carbon solidifying do a Google for Carbon Cycle and Carbon Solubility Pump
