![]() Hi,
Found a site called: "How much did it cost in Morris County, New Jersey? 1902-2002" [begin quote from the site] The prices listed in this survey were published in the [Morristown, New Jersey] Daily Record newspaper, the first fifteen days of May of each decade from 1902-2002. In order to facilitate historic price comparisons, we selected staple items in fourteen popular consumer categories: automobiles, beverages, clothing, employment, food, garden equipment, household goods, medicine & health care, newspapers, personal care, professional services, real estate, recreation & amusements. Whenever possible, we selected items/brands (Nabisco's Fig Newtons!) that are still being manufactured. This makes it possible to take a 1922 "shopping list" to your local supermarket or department store and compare prices. [end quote] So, when I was born a 3-bedroom house cost $12,500, eh? Now I guess they're a steal at $650,000--or am I losing my mind, which I actually think I am. If I stop posting, you'll know I've been committed or something else happened. Link is below--enjoy! Best, - Boyd How much did it cost in Morris County, New Jersey? 1902-2002 |
