Thanks Sandi, Ankesh and karunnt, and my response.
Thank you all. First let me explain. We have a good "brain trust". But the same could be said for Ford, GM and even GWB "administration"...
I'm sure the strategic planning teams at Ford, GM etc. didn't see the need to shift gears toward "fuel efficiently" as fast as possible. We sometimes are too close to the project, we can't see the forest for the trees sort of thing. And by posting this up, I'm sure we will uncover some things we didn't know about or think through. So I do appreciate your responses. Thank you Sandi, your area sounds like it would not be a very good place to open a center. We think some areas of the country are going to have a higher demand for our services than others. Although it does fall to the marketing team to create the demand and the interest. Students and seniors are not in our demographics nor are the basic skills jobs a target market. It is important for us to clearly identify and market to a specific demographic. If a region or area does not have a reasonable reachable market, this type of center wouldn't fit in. Ankesh, you said: Their # 1 reason to start the institute is to get good talent that they can hire for their own company... so in essence - people are paying them to get hired. YES, thanks. We will find talent from the pool of instructors, from the job applicants and from the companies seeking those with specific skills. There are other elements to the Center I haven't mentioned, for a reason. But this "matching" or even a "temp service" sort of thing is on the chart. karunnt, Thanks. In 1988 I was a Job Developer/Job Coach for a county agency and I developed a "JOB CLUB". The motto was, Getting a Job is your job. I later developed this "boot camp" into a part of my own business, ResumesPLUS. THANKS for the reminder, and it is a part of the initial service (FRONT END for you marketers) that include a free career assessment administered by professionals in the career placement field. Personally, a Job Club sounds more fun than a Boot Camp, but it is a good idea thanks. I'm going to post another post to cover some of things you mentioned and give you our take on those services.
