As with most things in life, infrequent training is not accepted by all the "experts". My personal experience from the past and my recent training has shown that for me, twice a week for weight lifting is the most productive. My body needs time to recover, especially at my age! The link below has many articles on high intensity training along with all the other controversies, such as "is aerobic exercise counterproductive"? Believe me, you can get lost for a looong time with all the articles, links, etc. The basics are from the original writings of the controversial Arthur Jones, (inventor of Nautilus), in the 1970's.
