![]() Gordon, my husband agrees with you that it will be wheels...not a hover craft. He spent time researching Kamen's patent #6062023 for a Cantilevered Crankshaft Stirling Cycle Machine last night at the IBM patent search site and the uspto.gov site.
Hubby, a science researcher, said that many companies have been working on making a cheap one person commuter car - he called it the "China Car" - said they would look like little suitcases going down the road and be like bumper cars so that we couldn't harm each other. He sees "IT" as being a molded polycarbonate 'bubble' (to protect us against the elements) over a three or four wheel base - maybe using the wheelchair technology which has been expanded on. Then, my excited spouse began talking so fast about his 'vision' of what it would be that he totally lost me! :) But, bottom line...he told me not to get my heart set on it being off the ground. (smile) Anyone who is eager to hear more speculation might want to tune in tonite to CNBC (financial show on Business Center) at 6:30 ET. They will do a feature on Kamen and most surely...talk about the 'wild guesses' and rampant speculation among the excited public who are awaiting what is now being described as "a 'life changing' product that will impact more people than even the internet". Wow. Just wow. I'm with Boyd...I don't even know what "IT" is...but I want one too! ~Amber |
