"Don't Buy XYZ Until You Read This" - Clever Idea

Hey Glenn....Gary Halbert was a MASTER AT "MOTIVATING WORDS"!

I met and got to know Gary at 2 of Bill Myer's seminars waaaay baaaack IN '95 & '96 when I was one of the Guest Presenters (along with Gary)

Gary's PROMO IDEAS...."WORKED"!

Along with the YP thingee you're referring to, he also had one that I've used in my various ventures and I STILL suggest can WORK....today!

For ex: A few weeks ago, I was in a local Business Lunch (where I gave a talk about Marketing Your Biz) and a Chiropractor (and a whole bunch of other small biz owners) came up to me and asked; "Can you take a look at MY business and give ME some suggestions on HOW I can get more, Customers, Clients, Patients?

The Chiro guy was "REALLY SERIOUS"...and took me aside and told me he was getting ready to CLOSING DOWN!

So...I told him I'd REALLY get back to him the next day (Tuesday)

So...I remembered another of Gary's MANY "Promo Ideas" (That I've used many times to promote MY programs) It was the "Free Record Message Reveals..." program.

I called the Chiro and told him I had something I thought would work for him. He said, "Can you come RIGHT Over?"

So...here's the program I presented for him, again, based on GARY Halbert's ideas (waaay back in 1995)

1) Get a Voice Mail Number ($10/mo from a Local provider) that offers a "2-minute OUTgoing message AND can capture 100 responses)
2) Run a 2", "Reverse" ad (black background, white letters) in the Sunday Paper (Sports and Senior Section) that says;
"FREE RECORDED MESSAGE REVEALS HOW TO ELIMINATE BACK PAIN IN 24 HOURS! Call xxx-1234 Ext 123!"

Now...another thing I learned from Gary was....if people are in "Pain" (either Physical or Mental or Business....PAIN)....they WILL "Blow Down Your Doors If YOU Offer Some Kind of RELIEF!"

(Gary was a MASTER at Motivational Psychology)

So...I made a "2-Minute OutGoing Message" that spoke about their Pain and that Dr. Pain Reliever could, possibly RELIEVE them....and other problems... and they could leave their Name and Phone # and Dr PainReliever would get back to them!"

Well....we ran the ads and people called to listen to the message that.... could...possibly... relieve their PAIN and....they left their Name & Phone and Dr PainReliever does NOT have to shut down his practice.

So....an object lesson here is twofold;
1) No matter how bad the economy gets (and it's gonna get real bad by the time the Marxist Socialists get finished)....there ARE ways to get business using the RIGHT "Motivational Tools"!
and
2) Even though a Promo Program was used years ago does NOT mean it can't be used TODAY!

Thanks for the Reminder about Gary's Recorded message tactic. Jeff Paul has made a fortune with the same idea.

The Headline You Used with the Chiropractor is
perfect timing. (I'd forgotten it.) I'll have to test it against what I using now.

One of my Hobbies is Testing and Writing up ideas to sell on Ebay.
OFF-the-wall ideas I get from interviewing WEIRD - rich entrepreneurs.

I've talked to so many that WEIRD Ideas seem much more fun to me.

Anyway...

I met this genius HEALING HANDS guru - whose mentors have a school or academy in Korea. famous in the world of Energy healing.

But new to me.

Because I was Curious.
Because I gave him some F-r-e-e info.
Because I sent him a Free book and some Healthy Chocolate.

He taught me this little HOT HANDS Energy Exercise.

gun. My arthritis and several of my clients joint and muscle pain has been reduced or gone away.

(AND those with a GREEN THUMB - One of my Wonderfully inventive clients HEATED HIS HANDS with this excercise. Reports his Geraniums have grown an INCH taller than his "Control Group" in just a week.)

So now we gotta' try this on some Vegetables!
