Default What do you think of flea markets and fairs?

Based on a great conversation with Steve DiMarco, I was thinking about selling my products via flea markets and other types of fairs to build demand, so then I can go to retailers and reps and show them the demand.

I know my items would do great at both, because they are unique and can be demonstrated which are two must haves for flea markets and fairs.

I also have setup my pricing such a way that once the people selling my products at the flea markets and shows, build up demand, they can then quit working the shows and just resell them at a profit to others sellers working the shows.

I also believe in my products enough that I am offering a buy back guarantee.

So please let me know your thoughts with the pros and cons.

Thank You!!! Steve for the great idea about fairs and flea markets.

Here's an idea, you may not have thought about. "GUN SHOWS" there's a bunch of them...and they are soooo easy.
The tables and chairs are already there, all indoors, no sun, wind, rain or
other problems. They pay to get in and want to see everything.

I just finished one last weekend, cost was $90.00 and my sales were over $500.00. Two days, Sat and Sunday 9:AM to 4:PM....no getting there early
in the morning.

I sell gifts and gadgets...no guns. They seem to buy anything. I had a case of folding scissors...cost .20cents and I put a small basket of them out at
$1.00 each....sold out everyone, all 50 of them...not one left.

Hey, I'm 80 and if I can do that..ANY ONE CAN

You are good. You just mentioned gadgetbob and he shows up.

gadgetbob: Thanks for the great gun show idea.

I looked at your E-Bay listings and they are incredible.

I am on Amazon.com and would love to put my products on E-Bay, but it seems too complicated for me. Amazon was easy.

Any suggestions on getting setup on E-Bay? Do I need a store or just listing or both?

What is the best way for me to get started?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bob, Selling on EBAY is very easy. I sell on Amazon also and there are
thousands of people on Ebay, that never see Amazon. So it is a good idea
to be on both.

Don't worry about getting a store, you can always do that later.

It really is easy to get going on EBAY, thousands of people sign on every week.

gadgetbob:

I went to a gun show today.

I couldn't believe all the guns, there must have been enough to outfit the army.

What is even more astounding is the number of people walking in this gun show.

I agree it would be a great place to sell products. But as you know you have to have the right type of products for the demographics.

But even though my products aren't a good fit, I am going to keep looking at other shows.
